Interesting...played for a little while when it first came out, but I've been curious about jumping back in after 2.0, good idea to do these bundles

I was thinking about playing this game but I already play LoL every now and then and I didn't wanna spread myself too thin by playing two mobas.

Games are so short that it might be possible for you to play both. I have several friends who are hardcore LoL players for years now and they'll hop in and play a few games of HOTS with me every now and then no problem. Of course they just go back to League afterwards, but they do seem to enjoy themselves when they do play HOTS.

And if you own SC2 Legacy of the Void, you have Artanis, if you have the WarCraft movie check it for a code for Guldan, and most recent retail Blizzard releases have come with Jaina I believe. Also if you are a Hearthstone player, you probably have the Hearthstone card mount unlocked, and if you're a Diablo 3 player you might have Malthael's charger unlocked. You can still get a mecha-Spider mount from doing a thing on Facebook here. Don't worry, it doesn't spam your friends. And I think you can still get Raynor and Sylvanas for free with the recruit a friend promo, but it requires a little bit of grinding so I wouldn't recommend it at least until Heroes 2.0 so you can play fresh with your new hero mega pack and whatever extra heroes you have waiting for you.

Also I got Valla and Diablo from owning Diablo 3, but I don't think they run those promos anymore. And I think there was a freebie for playing WoW, but I don't remember since I don't play it.

oh OW Origins gives Tracer? did not know that.

Looks like it's between Support/Specialist or Tank/Bruiser based on the heroes I already own. Definitely more characters I like in the former, but the gold value is better for the latter. Hmmm

Thanks for this, was able to get it.

Did a cost benefit analysis, and I think I'll go with the Tanks/Bruiser bundle. I get 13 new characters versus the other packs which give me around 10-9 new characters.

Better overall value for me, even though brawlers/close range heroes are my worst class types to play.

Any youtube channels to subscribe to for a complete noob? I don't want just tutorials (though that would help), but also some lets plays that are clearly communicating what's going on. It's a specific ask, i know. But even if anyone knows of just some beginner friendly lets play channels, that'd be great.

I tried browsing HOTS on Twitch, but had no idea what i was watching

The standard recommendation is MFPallytime: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCaIG92A013x_Cuv-yQOO7Hw

I would especially recommend his Heroes A-Z playlists, in which over the course of the playlist he goes through every hero alphabetically and explains their mechanics while playing them. Keep in mind some heroes have changed, and talents will likely be different, but the core way to play the hero will be relatively unchanged.

How does this game run on HD integrated graphics. I'm getting a mini pc next week as a stand in until I can spend some real money.

Im also not sure which package to go with since I dont know how any of the characters play. The only one I ever played with was the assassin chick who shoots arrows.

Pick Flex. It gives you a variety as well as a bunch of the gimmick heroes.

I love Heroes and often I'm playing and find nobody to play against.
So I'm really hoping this makes the game more popular.

It'll be a fun few weeks at least

So when is it up?
In about 7 hours.

I'm hyped for those bundles, I've been playing a lot of HOTS over the last year and even then, one of the bundles gets me 11 new heroes and a gold value of 95k, pretty good !

Can't wait to open up all those juicy chests !!!! (and get jack shit T-T)

I will get the Support and Specialist bundle just for Lucio. I thin I got Zarya during the last event, and already got Tracer. Can't remember if I got Meldivh but if not I would like her too.

I just want the red mecha Tassadar skin because he's who I play as the most and it looks eerily like Alteisen from Super Robot Wars. Which is one of my favorite mecha ever.

I tend to prefer support in this game for some reason, perhaps because it's one of the few games where my friends are better than me (they play a lot of mobas, I don't). But because of that I've already bought the support heroes I like, so I'll likely be getting a different bundle.

Blizzard finally got me to check out Heroes of the Storm, I guess. They've tempted me before with the Overwatch promotions, but I never actually dipped my toes in. But might as well try it out with the free heroes, right? Never played a MOBA before, time to see if I enjoy em.

This is the easiest Moba to get into so you'll be alright

Get your bundle before opening loot boxes. I neglected to do so and missed out on shards I would have gotten otherwise.

The calculator sites are nice. Bruisers set was worth slightly more than support/specialists for me but there's a lot of tanky heroes i don't care to try again.

In-game, yes, it does. There will be a checkmark next to the heroes you already own.

It seems like you have to go to the store and sort by owned though, because in the profile menu and the pick a character menu, dont seem to differentiate between owned and weekly free ones very well.

Well they got me to reinstall the game, I just logged in and I got a ton of boxes full to the brim of expensive skins. I actually really enjoyed the game when it first came out, but as time went on the community got worse and worse and the game suffered more each day. It's nice to know that if I ever do want to play again I have a ton of options now, though.

EDIT: My last match was 2 years ago, damn, didn't realise it had been so long. I have enough currency left to buy 4 10,000 heroes and enough gems to buy a few skins should I ever return.

The bundle itself shows you clearly which ones you own in game.

I can't decide between the Tank bundle and the DPS bundle. ;~;

DPS sounds fun af but the Tank bundle has so many cool characters... I don't knooooowww.

Played for the first time in year(s) last night. Chromie is a lot of fun, her sand blast is pretty hilarious due to it's range.

Played the game just to get the overwatch skins, had some fun grouping with randoms playing against the A.I., lets see how it goes against people when i try to get next weeks prizes.

Flex is the best Newbie one, gives you a mix of position and all the gimmick heroes.

No idea which one is most "meta", the meta is actually pretty open right now. All the mages are playable, most of the AAers, tanks and healers are.

So I secured the flex bundle a couple weeks ago and have been playing with a couple of friends against the AI the past two weeks. We've gotten pretty consistent at beating the AI on Adept. I enjoy using Jaina (I've learned to not die and overextend) and ETC (just really easy to pick up and control crowds).

How's the online community? Are we likely to get torched right out of the gate, or should we just jump in? We understand the basic concepts (staying in lanes to soak XP, hitting objectives together, not chasing/feeding the enemy kills). It's my first MOBA and the other two dabbled with Smite and League.

Jump into quick match, and just mute anyone who is rude using the instant buttons. HotS is a lot friendlier than other mobas and overwatch, but still has its fair share of dicks.

In terms of playing, few things to note about human players versus AI:

1) the AI stops chasing you quite early, human players will chase more to secure kills, so you will have to back out earlier to survive

2) AI players often hang around way too long before retreating, whilst human players will move more and go back earlier, so it's harder to get initial kills

Just jump in. It should be fine. Just stick to QM till you get a better hero pool since the draft modes mandate having a large one.
