This tweet was posted in this thread a long, long time ago. I guess he repeats that one every once in a while still.
The financial plan tweet is a good one though. It's also a repeat but still good.
kamiya follows no rules, not even his own

Nailed it, honestly.
I don't think anyone's mom knows.Someone should ask him.

Surely there must be a limit to number of the blocks you can have. You could build several mansions with all these blocks

This one's amazing, because you can picture Kamiya instinctively moving his mouse to block the guy, but then he pauses, and imagines those animals, and thinks they're kinda cool, and appreciates the guy's earnestness. And so the mouse hovers over the block button, Kamiya's finger trembling on the trigger, only to slowly, perhaps reluctantly, back down.
more like he almost blocked him, then looked at the game he is currently working on, and lets it slide...This one's amazing, because you can picture Kamiya instinctively moving his mouse to block the guy, but then he pauses, and imagines those animals, and thinks they're kinda cool, and appreciates the guy's earnestness. I have mixed feelings on Kamiya's Twitter behavior. I'm sure it's all in good fun, and I find it funny 99% of the time. But sometimes I think he underestimates how his words might affect some of his fans. I wouldn't be surprised if someone asked him a well-meaning question, only to be blocked or dismissed or called names. And if they look up to him as a role model -- maybe the one bright point in their life at the moment -- such a response would be devastating. He never answers questions with thoughts, even good ones like what is the key to directing. All he does is reply with smiley faces or blocks. Pretty shitty, he doesn't engage in good conversation with the fans by elaborating on some questions.
It's weird that he blocks so many people when Bayonetta was all about the dodge.
Like that one reply, telling the kid he'll never have success... Clearly a joke to the rest of us, but to that kid, it might be something he internalizes to a harmful degree. Maybe he was already an inch away from the edge. :-\
You know what I mean.Maybe he died. Maybe it drove him to suicide. Maybe he killed his entire family first. Maybe an entire family died because of a tweet.
You should tweet that to him
I survived.
BlockedI can fix that for you.
New Kamiya twitter rule:
What else is new.Okay, that's just going to confuse a lot of people.
Pretty much what I would expect from the majority of Japanese game devs if you quizzed them on the plots of their own games. All the obscurity and convoluted nonsense is just thrown into these games to hide the fact that they are shallow and meaningless and their creators have an utter lack of inspiration to actually tell a story.
what is "college freshman" for $200, alex
One of the reasons the Japanese game industry is dying because the more gaming hardware improves, the less your typical Japanese game dev is able to hide behind the limitations of hardware to allow their horrible storytelling skills to be filled in by the imagination of the gamer.
Now that AAA games require their stories to be cinematic and voice acted with characters rendered in HD, they are exposed for the childish, convoluted, hamfisted, shallow and meaningless mess that they are.
There are only few exceptions and they are having their funding pulled by the big publishers one by one.
lol.
It goes great with another post they recently made in the "controversial opinions" thread.
it really takes me back to my late teens/early 20s when game stories/writing would appall me and get me indignant.
Kinda figured it would be a raw nerve for the few remaining faithful. Don't worry, I'm sure your condescension will keep the Japanese game industry afloat. That and cosplay of course.

Seems needlessly mean. It's not like he was being a dick or something.

Kamiya couldn't -and wouldn't- attempt to craft a serious story if his life depended on it.
He lives for over-the-top frivolity, self-deprecation, cheese and self-aware, campy melodrama.
You may as well criticise Russ Meyer for not making Sophie's Choice.

Kamiya probably blocked them recently so they are just venting. Those remaining faithful to Kamiya's Twitter, the topic of conversation that you decided to hop into?
"Boy these Kamiya tweets are a blast"
"Fucking Japanese can't write"
