If Sony Released a 'PSX Mini' with 20 Games (no disc drive), Which Would You Include?

these early 3D games with outdated controls and no free camera just don't age well. the only games I would want to play from ps1 days are RPGs.

This is my preferred list:

1. Metal Gear Solid
2. Final Fantasy (any)
3. Tomb Raider II
4. Secret of Mana
5. Rayman
6. Syphon Filter (any)
7. Vigelante 8 (any)
8. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2
9. Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee
10. Intelligent Qube/Kurushi
11. Fear Effect (any)
12. Dino Crisis (any)
13. Castlevania SOTN
14. Crash Team Racing
15. Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver

Very hard to pick. The PS1 had an insane library. Here goes

Final Fantasy VII
Final Fantasy Tactics
Metal Gear Solid
Crash Bandicoot
CTR
Spyro the Dragon
Tekken 3
Tony Hawks Pro Skater 2
Resident Evil 2
Gran Turismo
Driver
Wipeout 2097
Vagrant Story
Tomb Raider
R4: Ridge Racer Type 4
Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver
Grand Theft Auto
Colony Wars
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
Oddworld: Abes Oddyssey
Xenogears
Dragon Quest VII

Welp couldn't do it, even by keeping it.to one per series (a few obvious semi-exceptions withstanding)

1. Metal Gear Solid
2. Ace Combat 3: Electrosphere
3. Castlevania: SotN
4. Tekken 3
5. Ridge Racer Type 4
6. Gran Turismo
7. Wip3out
8. Vigilante 8
9. Test Drive 5
10. Parasite Eve 2
11. Legacy of Cain: Soul Reaver
12. Tobal 2
13. Einhänder
14. Twisted Metal 3
15. Silent Hill
16. Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped
17. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2
18. Cool Boarders 3
19. Dino Crisis
20. Ultimate MK3

Here's my list, I think.

Maybe a bit of a derail, but the PSTV is already pretty much exactly this for me... I currently have it hooked up with ONLY PSone classics from the PSN Store using the Vita 32GB and still have some space to spare.

The only real downside being that a game like MGS1 does not work/play on it.

Outside of that, I have everything I could ever want on this thing from my PSX days minus maybe Legend of Legaia and it's fantastic.

The majority of you would probably get a Xbox mini too if it were released. Pointless purchase really if you already have the original systems/games.

1. Crash Bandicoot 1-3
2. Crash Team Racing
4. Spyro 1-3
5. Metal Gear Solid
6. Castlevania Symphony of the Night
7. Silent Hill
8. Final Fantasy VII
9. Parappa The Rappa
10. Resident Evil 2
11. Megaman Legends
12. Tekken 3
13. Tomb Raider 2
14. Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver
15. Dino Crisis 2
16. Soul Blade
17. Xenogears
18. Legend of Dragoon
19. MediEvil
20. Twisted Metal 2

Add some I liked and some that was universally liked at the time.

1. Tobal no. 1

I would imagine this would what the PSX Mini would look like if one were to be made, with around 60% of it being Sony first party-made games.

1. Crash Bandicoot
2. Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back
3. Crash Bandicoot Warped!
4. Crash Team Racing
5. Final Fantasy VII
6. Final Fantasy VIII
7. Final Fantasy IX
8. Gran Turismo
9. Gran Turismo 2
10. Hot Shots Golf
11. Hot Shots Golf 2
12. Metal Gear Solid
13. Resident Evil 2
14. Spyro the Dragon
15. Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage
16. Spyro: Year of the Dragon
17. Syphon Filter
18. Syphon Filter 2
19. Tekken 2
20. Tekken 3
21. Twisted Metal 2

But as for me I would include:
Final Fantasy VII
Xenogears
Metal Gear Solid
Final Fantasy IX
Tekken 3
Legend of Dragoon
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
Silent Hill
Final Fantasy Tactics
Tekken 2
Resident Evil 2
Crash Bandicoot 2
Crash Bandicoot Warped!
Resident Evil
Resident Evil 3
Tomb Raider
Time Crisis

And I would have to think about the others, but that would definitely be on my list.

Einhander, Ridge Racer Type 4, Final Fantasy IX, Parasite Eve 2 (yes, the second one), R-Type Delta, G.Darius, Resident Evil 2, Silent Hill, Front Mission 3, Gran Turismo

Would be the first 10 for me off top of head

Honestly if Sony wanted to be smart about it, they could launch with any set 20 games for the thing but also have an option to go online and buy additional games for the thing. I'd honestly love a PSX/SNES/GENESIS/ect mini system that allowed me to literally have every single release or as many as I wanted on it.

Jetmoto
Thrill Kill
Armor Core
Ape Escape
Bust a move (groove)
Kings Field
Tobal 2
Tekken 3
Ezgherizs
MGS
Project Overkill
Silent Hills
Warhawk
Tony Hawks 2

My PSTV solely exists to be a mini PSX box. Got about fourty games on it. Shame I can't get any Crash or Spyro games for it, though.
Yeah, it's exactly how I wish the PSTV had been developed and marketed. Not as a Vita for your TV, but a dedicated PSX classics console (that happens to have a Vita's guts).

Legend of Dragoon would be far, far, FAR more likely than Final Fantasy VIII or IX as it's a Sony title.

Raise that price up to 100$ or whatever it takes, but get that Gon license for Tekken 3. I bought physical copy of it this year, because I love that game so much, but it's sad to see that one of the best fighting games ever is unavailable due to character licensing issues.

If it had Jumping Flash and Final Fantasy Tactics I'd probably want one.

Or you could, you know, play a newer version? As a bonus, it wouldn't be saddled with two irritating "guest" characters.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't understand either the love for the guest characters or the desire to play outdated versions of Tekken. It's not like Street Fighter, where II, III, IV and V are all very different games. Tekken is basically the same game, just with newer versions. It's like wanting to play Super Street Fighter IV rather than Ultra, or SFII Champion Edition rather than Super SF2, or New Generation rather than 3rd Strike, or Virtua Fighter 4 rather than 5, or VF5 vanilla rather than Final Showdown. It just doesn't make sense to me.
