Alright! Apparently enough people liked the march thread to allow for a second round of the monthly Indie Games thread series. This time I'll leave out the informational tidbit about dev updates, Kickstarter Progress etc, because frankly, people didnt seem to care that much about it. Maintaining this thread takes up a lot time already, so I needed to reevaluate how to go about that. The thread now contains the stuff mentioned above, and I think thats the format upcoming threads will aim for, if no one complains. Feedback appreciated however.
One thing that the first thread already showed rather clearly, was that there seems to be a small community growing from these threads. This is really, really awesome to see and I want to thank all the users that actually take their time to check out games and post back. This also makes this endeavor fun for me, since I dont need to think with which nonsense I can now bump the thread again!
This month, we'll also include some contests for the first time, to offer another incentive to post and talk. Additionally, we will now also have a voting on the best games of the month in the last week of the thread. The results for march can be seen below. For some first time readers that wonder about my definition of "recent": We didnt have any major Indie thread in 2012 on GAF, so we are also catching all the titles that slipped through our net last year. Anyway, have fun with the games from this month!

Hey! I assume you are new in this thread series and want to see what we were up to? Or you didnt have enough time to play through all of the games from the last month but still want to catch up with the best ones? Then this list is for YOU! These are the best games from the march thread, voted on by the community (More thorough descriptions and impressions in the march thread, especially the last few pages with the voting):
About half of all of the available games for that month have been voted vor. This shows that the games had a pretty big variety and a high quality. I was very glad to see that the votes didnt only drop on a few selected games. Check out the remaining entries as well, which contain even more noteworthy games from last months thread.

We might add contests later if the demand/gifts allow it.

1. Papers, Please! - Free (PC)
http://dukope.com/#ppl
Unsurprisingly #1. This communist paperwork simulator convinced many with originality and a harsh commentary on the everyday life of an immigration officer in the fictional and highly communist country of Arstotzka.

2. Factorio - €9,99/ Free Demo (PC, Mac Linux)
https://www.factorio.com/
My personal Indie Game lovechild of March. Its a production chain management simulation with some tower defense elements thrown in. Its not as complicated as it sounds, but is loads of fun to those who give it a try. I'll predict it now, this game will land in my GOTY 2013 Top 5. Everyone should check out the Demo. YES, YOU TOO. EVEN IF SPACECHEM SEEMS TOO DAUNTING!

3. Kentucky Route Zero - $24,99 (PC)
http://store.steampowered.com/app/231200
Beautiful and engaging adventure game with an incredible amount of polish and style. Unfortunately, a bit expensive still, but this is definitely a game Indie Game Lovers will need to turn to at one point.

4. Gorogoa - Free (PC, Mac)

Inventive, captivating, refreshing. This is how to reinvent and revitalize a genre.

5. The Sea will claim everything - $10 (PC)
http://landsofdream.net/games/the-sea-will-claim-everything/
Like peering into the mind of a 5 year old who read Nietzsche.

6. Slave of God - Free (PC)

AAAAAH. OOOOOH. GARBLWARGHLKRRBBRRRRRR.
