Your avatar was 85x120. Scaled up, that's 90x127.
The math works like this:
ScalePercentage = 90 / AvatarWidth
AvatarWidth = 90
AvatarHeight = ScalePercentage * AvatarHeight
So for you:
ScalePercentage = 90 / 85 = 1.06
AvatarWidth = 90
AvatarHeight = 1.06 * 120 = 127
And thus, you were over the limit.

I hate doing this, but I want to see if anyone can make this into Avatar size?
I don't know if it can be done without it looking extremely distorted. I don't have PS or any programs on my laptop; Ironically I asked my friend who's a Graphics Arts major with CS4 and she couldn't do it.

And on your comment about GIFs, I have no clue what you mean. GIF is a lossless compression method, like PNG. JPG, on the other hand, is lossy and does change the image slightly in order to achieve compression. GIF does have a limited colour palette, but most images don't have that many colours.

If it's the same one you had, then no, it will be 90 by 12x, which was about 127 when I changed it. Make it 90 across, that was the issue with yours (and probably 95% of them); the resize to 90 makes them more than 120 vertically.
