It may not be 2D, but Power Stone 2.
He said fighting games, not party games.

Power Stone 1 is great, though.

Why not the PSX version of Alpha 3?
Because Alpha 3 is a butt.

It would be kind of novel to have a home port of Alpha 3 Max, though.

Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown

Fatal Fury: Wild Ambition

Groove On Fight

BTW Isn't Melty getting a Japan-only PS3 release?

No, you're probably thinking of Examu's Arcana Heart 3, which will be ported to Japanese PS3s and 360s in January 2011 by Arc System Works. BB netcode get hype.

It's out on PS2. I imported it on that.
Fun game :)

Yah I know, I've seen it in your pickups =p. But I don't have a Japanese ps2 or modded ps2. Iamcry.

There's a chance Aksys might pick up AH3 though right?

They're making a new HD fighter, so maybe that will find its way to PS3.

I hope it's just as well animated and fun as Melty.

As for AH3, the Aksys fanbase has been vocal so I see it as a definite possibility. Also, yeah Aksys is practically Arc's North American partner if you look at their publishing history :lol

Asura Buster. A relatively unknown but very cool fighting game.

Asura Blade is cool but Buster improved on pretty much everything.

You sir are awesome. The Asura series had one of my favorite ever combo machines. Lightning.

The series itself has a similar playstyle to SF4 style. Loved it.

Judging from Melty I'm sure it'll be fine, I'm more worried about the release date and platforms.
I just remember Aksys having that poll for people to vote for which game they would be interested in being localized between DDP DFK, AH3 and SnR: Duo.

:D

I can cast my votes for Groove on Fight, Red Earth, Fighters History, and Cyberbots (BLODIAAAA~!) as well, with World Heroes Perfect on the side.

Now for some others:

Yu Yu Hakusho (Genesis)... we really need a game like this for the online world!

Bleach DS basically was that game's successor, and it was online.

And somehow, despite being either the first or second 3rd party game to utilize Nintendo WFC, it seems to have actually had better netcode than most other stuff on that service. It still floors me that my online experience against Japanese Bleach DS players was more satisfactory than my experience with American TvC players.

Akatsuki Blitzkampf is fucking awesome. So simple to pick up and play, and it's ridiculously fun. I'd love to have it on PSN for online.

Port of Alpha 2 Gold and Alpha 3 Upper would be nice. PSN/Live ports of KOFXI would also be nice so I don't need to keep my PS2 around and can use my better sticks with it.

I want a revival of Project Justice! And I wouldn't mind giving Rumblefish 2 a go...

The Puzzle Fighter spin-off.

Dear god THIS !

With every street fighter 4/marvel3 having someone from the development team saying something like "making the game noob friendly" they have to go right at the source !

Also, insanely cute and full of fanservice .. and it is praticaly a "capcom vs capcom" ... so a new one would be godly =3

All of these would be perfect for Game Room on 360. There would be minimal work involved to put them up...
There has yet to be a game released in Game Room that features online multiplayer, which is kind of a big deal with fighters.

Goddamn Cyberbots looks sweet and it already has widescreen available!
that's just the CPS2 resolution. CPS2 games are drawn with the intention of being stretched to 4:3. That's why 1:1 sprite rips of say, SF2 characters look so fat

I really can't believe Super Turbo isn't out in Wiiware with online, or regular old Super Turbo for VC arcade.

Street Fighter IV World Champion
I vote:

Red Earth

Fatal Fury Real Bout Dominated Mind

Art of Fighting 3

And a serious remake of Fatal Fury Special, all character included.

Alpha 2 on 360, throw a HD remix on that bitch with more characters while you are at it.

Yes to Alpha 2 on the 360, yes to a HD remix, no to more characters and add David Sirlin as supervisor. That right there is a recipe for the best 2D fighter becoming a nigh on masterpiece.

Everyone should support the 2d fighting genre by buying King of Fighters 2002 Unlimited Match coming on Nov 3rd - very soon!
I will definitely be copping that. I just hope the online stays active.

I already bought it - twice! - on PS2. D:

Bakumatsu Roman 1/2 deserve a proper port with the astounding NGCD music.

edit: never played waku waku 7 but it looks awesome! I'm going to have to find a copy now.

No to more characters?! A3's roster with a2's gameplay would be fucking money.

Waku Waku 7 is awesome.

Even though it's impossible I would like to see Gundam Wing Endless Duel such a good game. Do Gundam Battle Assault games play like GW:ED ?

Alpha 3 destroys Alpha 2 in every possible way, other than the music.

Better systems, more characters, amazing home ports--love World Tour mode. I don't get me wrong I love Alpha 2, but Alpha 2 bested it.

Wouldn't mind a Big Bang Beat port if they FIX THE COLLISION BOXES!!!!!1

Melty has been mentioned enough so no need for me to mention. (I have Actress Again on PS2....but no more PS2 =( )

Rage of the Dragons looks very interesting. Reminds me of KoF's
Fatal Fury: Mark of the Wolves
Definitely love some Melty Blood AA. Just redo the sprites for HD because they look like shit on my hdtv and add online. I would be all over it.

Hmm, I guess if you had Sirlin on the bill we could have that. I'm not sure how it could be possible......but I am not a 2D fighting connoisseur.

It's also broken in every possible way to Alpha 2.

ST never got a port to a Nintendo system, that's why.

I don't think Sirlin will be allowed to work for Capcom after he put Backbone on blast hard. He mentioned in the past that he wanted originally to do an A2 remake, not a ST remake, but Capcom insisted. (he felt A2 could have been made into a better game, and his best game was A2, the MIT folks were beasts at it back in the day.)
