It did nothing for gameplay (outside of one or two gimmick sections in 3d land), but I still liked the 3d feature, and always played with it on unless there was a huge framerate difference, like in DoA: Dimensions.
My favourite game for it would have to be Ocarina of Time. Being able to peer 'into' the screen into a higher fidelity version of my favourite game ever was just an awesome experience. It gave places like Lake Hylia and the Spirit Temple exterior brand new life.
