The Doppelgangaz - Beats For Brothels, Vol. 2

Beats For Brothels, Vol. 2 is an enigma of sorts. A unique structure comprised heavily of instrumentals and decorated with the Ghastly Duo's vocals interspersed throughout the project. Breaking the mold of the first in the series, Volume 2 is designed for an authentic listening experience as the structure dictates intended feelings and emotions crafted by The Groggy Pack.

Oh my god.

Okay...so I've digested what Bonobo has to offer and love it.

Listening to that has brought me to DJ Krush.

Listening to Jaku right now...this is so fucking up my alley.

Good man! I recommend to give Ki Oku, Milight, Zen, Kakusei a listening. Great albums imo.

I've been going through the smoothest compilation tape -

"Ninja Tune XX Vol.2" - Various Artists

*Including the likes of Bonobo and Jaga Jazzist, this tape ranges from soulful (Post Suite) to downright creeping (Blink in the Night), despite the goofy cover. Don't sleep!

Just got an e-mail from DigiCrates that they're having a Summer sale for all of their artists' albums. $3.99 for each of them.
There's quite a few albums.

I know there's some pretty good stuff in there.
Personally, I love P.SUS' Sky Rhythms and DJ Ezasscul's Jazz Meditation Trilogy.

If anyone finds any other gold here, please recommend whatever you find. :)

How am I supposed to digest this avalanche of music? For a long time, after first listening to Nujabes back in 05 thanks to samurai shamploo, I tried to find more music of the same genre but didn't had much luck...till I found this thread.

On some points, I feel like the music Nujabes gave us on Metaphorical Music and Modal Soul is the ex libris of this genre or whatever one might call it, but upon listening to some of the works posted here, I also found some new things that Nujabes lacked (knowingly or unknowingly). However, I still feel that his work transmits some sort of peace that others cannot reach. Even so, he inspired a lot of people who picked up on his work and did some great music also. This thread proves it and that's why I keep coming back and back again. Thanks to all the people who share the great music!

My advice for new people finding this thread and the beauty inside is to take it slow, get one or two albums and listen to them thoroughly and then move on, you will miss out if you just get everything and blow through it.

Man, Uyama Hiroto and Haruka Nakamura need to collaborate again, because they make some wonderful sounds when they do..
Faure is one of the smoothest jazz-hop songs I've heard...
Meanwhile, Island is one of the most heartfelt.
That, and Uyama Hiroto needs to make another album already!
It's been four years, and his album still remains as one of my favorites.
