Woah, those little effects you can add are so unexpected. It's so unlike Mario, but it's cool I guess. I can see people going overboard and creating an obnoxious mess as well with a sound effect every other second (Nintendaan plz).

No it won't. It's not possible. The game is missing way too much stuff. Various enemies, powerups, types of platforms and objects, level themes etc. You can't even make slopes.

Not in this version. There's a lot of stuff missing that would be required to remake some of the games. Maybe in Super Mario Maker NX (or if they add DLC to this game).

Well they can't do whole games because there are objects, enemies, and backgrounds that aren't in this that are in World and Super M 3.

Supposedly the Pokémon characters lack unique jingles for their death, spawning, or victories. I guess The Pokémon Company's generosity could only go so far (if this is true).

There's an individual Pikmin (Red, Blue, and Yellow) character, but missed opportunity because there's no Pikmin Ghost that appear when they die.

Lot of Mario Maker seems to be sliding towards major fun for creators and complete bore for players. Lots of Kaizo World stages filled with irritating sound effects, no thanks.

Hopefully filters and competitions mitigate that.

Bummer. They already are in 8 bit, why not put the audio to go with it? Wonder if they won't trigger special commentaries from Toad either.

Why would The Pokemon Company really care if they used the sound effects? Seems like a really insignificant thing to hold out on. Its a Mario/Nintendo game, the character is already playable - come on, what does it hurt? >_>

Exactly my stance. Seems super silly. "Sure, you can put the Pokémon on screen, just make sure they don't sound anything like them". Hopefully they reconsider because as it is they come across as half assed efforts, they'd stand out in a bad way, not sure what is TPC's reasoning here.

WatchTheBirdie, on cellphone so I can't look for it, but a gaffer posted a pic of the Bowser amiibo triggering tailor-made dialogue from Toad in another thread.
