Hey, anybody else get obvious polygon lines on some destroyable objects? Good example is the pillars in the car park during Chapter 1. The chunks you can blow off the pillars have obvious poly seams. It looks stupid.

No, that's weird. Neither my 360 nor PC version do this.

Battlefield 3 used to do that for me until I changed drivers, but I assume you're on the latest drivers.
 
New patch has made a huge difference with mouse aim now disabling mouse accel, but the issue with sensitivity and frame rate remains, its still throwing me off when the FPS takes a hit.

Far more playable now however woo !

(Oh and if you havent got the patch, i had to verify the cache, it then kicked it into updating)
 
so, the patch doesn't fix my issue of it randomly pausing the game while i'm playing, however it's insane how much more fun it is with mouse acceleration turned off. i've never really paid much attention to people bitching about it in the past, but consider me a believer. just went through chapter 11 in arcade mode, and hell... that was so much easier AND MORE BAD ASS. shoot dodge is sooooo much more useful now.

Still can't play the game I paid for. Won't launch at all, pretty sure it never even patched on steam. I've restarted steam like 10 times, and game is set to auto update.

The steam_appid.txt is already in my folder w/ that number everyone is telling us to put in there.

Any ideas? Getting pretty frustrated.

Its not right that I pay 60 bucks, spend a day trying to get the game to work, while pirates can get up into this game in a few minutes. Fuck you Rockstar.

it's highly unlikely you cant play because of social club, there are quite a few other issues they've acknowledged (some fixed in the new patch) that are causing problems

I can launch the game, i cant get past the loading screen and Im not getting any prompts to sign in to Social Club. Im pretty positive Social Club is fucking my shit up

could be one of the below causing it, try everything after the usual verify file integrity in steam etc
try reinstalling social club, its a stand alone program separate from the game (at least for retail disc)
also could be firewall related - there is an article below about the ports the game uses
you could also delete the social club folder in my documents and retry that

i'm pretty sure its something to do with your pc blocking social club from starting/connecting

The new patch allows me to get to the menu and start the game, but the cutscenes are completely black.

Any ideas? I'm so close!

Still cannot launch the game. I verified cache, finally it worked last night. Woke up to play more, and game does not launch again.

I found a trick if you disable/renable framework from the add/remove features section of win7 and then reboot it lets the game launch. Upon exiting and relaunching, nothing.

At this point I just uninstalled the game and currently am re downloading entire 29gb at 4MB/sec.

So frustrating man, the pirated version works fine which add's some irony imo.

Thanks for links iNvidious01, I've been to all of them numerous times though.

there is an in-game option for this (outline on interactive objects or something like that I believe) that is disabled by default.. maybe yours is enabled for some reason?
 
Okay so after using the cutscene skip "mod" I noticed that whenever I started a new game, the game would go completely black during the first gameplay moment; pressing ESC did nothing and the only solution was ALT-TAB and quitting. This is so far the only problem I encountered since swapping the movie files. But I think I found a solution so you can start a new game in peace.

Swap all the movie files except "s_fashion.bik". It seems this is the first cutscene in the game and you must keep it normal to start a new game properly.
 
Is there any way to cheat to choose what guns you can use?

Ive finished the game but would like to replay with dual desert eagles or similar.

I ´ve finally manged to get rid of any other problem, I´m going to start playing and this damn microstutter is ruining the whole experience.

GTX580 with lastest nvidia drivers 301.42.

Same card here. What are your settings. Do you have MSAA on?

Everything maxed except MSAA, using fxaa very high.

Win 7 x64 sp1
6 gb ram
i7 920@3.8 ghz

Is like my fps are all over the place around 59-60-61, so its really annoying.

Strange. Exact same settings for the game and same Nvidia Drivers here. Your CPU is even much better than mine. Sorry I couldn't be any help. I was going to suggest turning off MSAA, as my game was quite choppy with it on.

Currently. There is nothing in the game, that could be called coop support. I'm not certain if there's anything confirmed, for the horizon though, but I think it's just maps for versus multiplayer.

There is one future DLC labelled New York Minute Co-op Pack. But there are no details on if it's exactly as it sounds like it is or not.

What if I purchase from a store?
That would be outside of Steam. But the game does keep track of stats and achievements through Rockstar's website. So all the Steam features are really doing is reprinting your achievements in your steam profile.

Has anyone figured out how to enable surround sound on this game? I mean full surround side and back. There is only options for headphones/stereo/surround side/surround behind.

I really don't get it. Why can't I hear enemies from the side AND the back? I have logitech G35 headphones, no problems in any other games. Is this just simply an option not included in the game?? Driving me crazy right now!!

I can't tell where the enemies are, if I do surround sound behind I can tell front and back but not the sides. And if I do surround sound side, I can't hear anything behind or in front sound wise.

Stereo/Headphones seem to be just that, stereo.

My Logitech G35 are 7.1 native but they can do 5.1

I have not had a game yet in 2 years that gave me problems with these headphones.

Any ideas guys?

Amazing PC Conversion.

Running at all highest at 2xmsaa and high fxaa getting about 60-80fps at 19:00x1200.

With 4xmsaa usually below 60fps.

Weird I was overclocking the GTX670 and the game ran perfectly fine for the first 4 chapters, then it started crashing back to desktop. Returning to stock clock speeds the game is running perfectly fine again.

Posted in steam forum thread about this exact same issue also.

Just figured maybe someone in here is playing with headphones and has noticed positional audio is all but absent (If they are having the same problem that I am). Very early in morning so hopefully I get some responses in here =(

Eesh, the multiplayer experience has gone south. Way more getting stuck waiting in lobbies, menus glitching out during transitions, noninteractive error messages, falling through the world. All the camera "assists" become the worst thing ever at higher level play.

"No", it's because the cutscenes were animated with him holding a one handed weapon in mind.

Yeah, so it was a design decision due to aesthetics and continuity, could just add an in-engine transition back to the gun you were holding or an option to keep your weapons through cutscenes. The fact that the game takes control from you is pretty frustrating. I vaguely remember a similar behaviour in mp2.

No, if it was a design decision they likely would have animated a separate set for two handed weapons or have had it auto switch back. I don't think I buy that they deliberately wanted you to arbitrarily switch back pistols just to face the next encounter.
