anyone have a continuation of the FFXV comparison vs other games in the series?

Titanic was called the Ship of Dreams, and it was. It really was.
I miss the days of the Pacman DS, such greatness and ownership. The entire TOP10 used to be made of DS titles, and about 75/80% of the TOP50 would be DS.

We'll never have something like that ever again.

Sony just had to píss it. Just because of market share.

I know people don't like it, especially the third parties. But... A healthy gaming industry is a Nintendo Industry.

not sure what this means since 3DS still has the biggest market share in Japan. By far.

My bad, guys. I thought these were first week numbers. I just realized my mistake.

Great numbers then!
No worries, you're not the first one who have thought that the predictions were for the first week, far from it :)

Why would the 3rd parties be pissed about a healthy gaming industry? :p And in what way did Sony just had to piss it? The PSP also did really well overall.

So What was YSO predicción for pokemon first week?

I would slightly disagree. The DS was a healthy industry, and the Wii and 3DS, but perhaps a little less so. However, the DS is on par with the PS1 and PS2 for creating a healthy market that all developers could prosper in. Right now we just have polar tent poles and niche fervent fan series - not much inbetween.

Since I never posted this week's releases, now I bring some interest things out there.

The release day at Shibuya TSUTAYA was at 7:00 am and they recommended purchasing the games as soon as soon as possible. They limited the purchases to two copies per person, and to one copy of the Double Pack per person. There was a big stand for Sun and Moon, close to a dedicated space for kid-oriented games such as Yo-Kai Watch 3 or Monster Hunter Stories.

The game is still available in TSUTAYA, but this curious rental bag is out of stock.

Bic Camera in the same league, or even better with this Pikachu hanging around...

The Z Ring and some other toys related were very popular as well.

At little shops, Pokémon was the main topic, and not only the games. Some other things as the Trading Card Game, the new models for the hardware, or these Pikachu plushes.

At Santy Shop, the release was huge even though is a little store, with ads out of it. By the way, Famicom Mini is totally sold-out there.

Monster Hunter XX was very popular also, and reservations were big as usual for the franchise.

On other topic, Fire Emblem Cypher new cards are two weeks from release day, so store do like so much posters and they have this.

Yakuza ads started so time ago, and are quite notorious. But, Final Fantasy XV still without proper advertisiment aside big electronic stores.

FF12 2,694 +432
FF13 1278-1963 (~1600)
FF13-2 462-637 (~550)

As a final mobile follow-up on our new releases, basically everything has tapered off or continued to sit in ho-hum positions except for Yu-Gi-Oh, which is now in the top 10, and has exceedingly positive user reviews, so I think there's good long term hit potential for that one assuming the post launch service is run well.

We can clearly see that YW3 has a sale. The last ~20k of the stock left is sold at 2,980¥.

That's more or less the price (x2) of the YW3 sushi / Tempura Double Pack that will be released on December 15th. I don't know the reason to announce this kind of bundle, the only I can think is to fuc* retailers.

Hino is a good boy.

Yeah, not sure what to make of this bundle. It's not like they recalled the unsold units and made a special pack with those.

There were lines at Pokémon Centers, but aside those it's true that there weren't many lines. Big stores were quite crowded as far as I'm concerned though, and Pokémon decorative ads were at every store, even little shops.

So, although it's mostly true, I think this happens for different reasons. One, could be not too much hype as X and Y had; other could be that there were too many pre-orders so I suppose people had not the necessity to line up; and e-commerce websites such as Yahoo Shopping, Amazon Japan or Rakuten Ichiba, had very big deals with lots of extra merchandising that could benefit some other buyers.

Or maybe it's just because the game came out on a Friday, which was a work/school day for most people?

Konami has announced 1m downloads for Yu-Gi-Oh! Saikyou Card Battle (F2P on 3DS). Surprised it's doing that well, download-wise.

From the PSN sale:

- Titanfall 2 seems to be doing fine, hanging at the top of the charts, really good user reviews too.

- COD is doing really bad, perfoming worse than Titanfall, Battlefield and even Eagle Flight.

- Not even being sold at 50% will save Street Fighter V.

Tomorrow is public holiday in Japan, so numbers are going to be delayed. 4Gamer.net/Media Create simply say November 24th (usual time but +24h, I assume, not 12AM JST), while Famitsu says nothing (but they've been pretty unreliable timing wise, so who knows when that will be), but they will most likely be first unless

Pokebomba. Lol, nah, it's fine. Wonder about the legs though....

If MediaCreate shows the numbers higher than Famitsu, we can expect to see more MC fans.

Media Create tracks the double pack separately and as 1 copy, while Famitsu as 2 copies.

I guess MC will show 1.7M for the standard versions, and ~90-100k for the double pack, that counted as 2 will make 1.9M.

If 4gamer is 24h late, there's always gamer.ne. They post MC numbers every thursday at 13:00 JST. They have the top 30, but only top 10 with numbers, and rounded.

Oh? I thought Gamer stopped posting MC data a while ago. Hopefully they won't be late this week.

Famitsu also reported 3DS hardware sales of 113,987.

The Pokemon effect is still strong.

I was really confused for a moment, as I clearly didn't see anything regarding 3DS sales... then I saw the sneaky mofos updated the post a bit later. Thanks for the heads up!

Really curious about 2DS sales. It must have gotten a big boost, most likely the biggest of all models (by %, not sales).

This boost is gonna help for that Road to 22 million.

3DS sold 133.628 with Generations12 months ago. It can potentialy have a simlar December with last year.

With the 2DS and the much better line-up for December, it's definitely possible (not to mention Pokémon S/M itself).

But what about Final Fantasy XV?

Now that I saw again the 3DS graph every week before 2DS launch it is below Y-O-Y and every week after it is over. The week of untracked 100k 2DS Pokemon bundles is also the only other time it went over.

The 3ds having 6 of the top 20 is a great achievement

hey man, take a breath, seriously

this is a videogame forum and we are taking about videogames, not serious things

you seem a bit touchy everytime I make some hilarious post "against" nintendo, I'm not trolling you or some of your parents, but a videogame company
there are more and important things to get nervous about in ordinary life, believe me

nintendo might be the most successful company on planet Earth, but this changes something in my or your life? no, except if you are a shareholder, considering how much efforts you put in defending that company

I suggest again to take a break about this, health is precious
Oh the irony, too funny.

Curious to see if the 2DS will allow sales to go back to YoY increase. Most likely not, but at least drop shouldn't be too hard (especially with the good line-up).

Thanks a lot for the graph!
