So Riggs is coming back ? Honestly I'm not convinced with the idea, unless they really change the tone of the movie I don't see old Gibson playing the same crazy character, mullet and everything.

Riggs dropped the mullet in Lethal Weapon 4 unfortunately. I'm more interested in how they handle Murtaugh, that dude was ready to retire in the first movie. There's no way he would be a cop at his age but I still almost hope they do it.

Loved his work on Passion and Apocalypto but I fucking hated Heartbreak Ridge.

Hopefully he can bounce back in my eyes.

Yeah he said some dumb shit but meh, whatever. Art from artist and all that.

What does Heartbreak Ridge have to do with Mel Gibson?

Love the meltdowns every time Mel Gibson is involved with anything these days.
Not sure about the movie itself as everyone involved is too old. But you never know, and Mel can be a good director.

He probably means Hacksaw Ridge

Unlike you, who would be fun to watch movies with, because to you, facts are free, but comment is sacred. How dare anyone have any different subjective opinions to you.
You’re free to have as many stupid opinions as you would like. But they are, in fact, stupid. If you are watching Hollywood movies for their historical accuracy and content, I will tell you that you are looking in the wrong place. It would be like looking for political news by going to ESPN.

But most people already know that. Because they’re movies. For entertainment. We have a category called documentaries. You seem to have a tough time differentiating between the two.

I hope this ties into the TV show or just says fuck it and does a full on Donnerverse with Superman, Damien of the Omen, and some kids from the Goonies all thrown in there.

Or a LW/Die Hard crossover. You know Bruce Willis will do ANYTHING for $$$.

This is gonna be a nostalgia fest. The only way I see Riggs and Murtaugh getting involved in ANYTHING is if a villain from their past shows up and threatens some grandkids or something. Probably play into Riggs' SF/CIA past.

They just can't capture that feel of 80's buddy action films. Something essential was lost with how those films looked, sounded, and were paced.

It is just your opinion that entertainment should not be held to these standards, and I don't really care because I don't think it is a good faith argument. I'm sure you would be the first to complain if some big budget film had some element that you thought was just unbelievable BS. Just you would say it is not entertaining, cool, faithful to source material, or something else.

I just think your expectations are ridiculous and make you look like a moron. You’re basically complaining that Best Buy doesn’t carry a good selection of textbooks.

He's definitely not too old for this shit. At least not for directing.

Danny Glover will be on this one?

Titanic was called the Ship of Dreams, and it was. It really was.
IDK the story.. But I bet there's a lot of torture in it.

To be clear, I expect historical films to have inaccuracies. I also expect any historical film directed by Mel Gibson to have many historical inaccuracies of epic proportion. The question here is if I should have any minimum standards of good taste and respect for facts or not.

Can't wait for it. The Lethal Weapon series is a favourite of mine. As crazy as Mel can be from time to time I love the guy as an actor and director.

Impressive actor and director, let him enjoy making the movie from a historic franchise like Lethal Weapon.

Lord Panda

The Sea is Always Right
Seeing Jet Li beat the living snot out of Riggs and Murtaugh was cathartic stuff.

Hope Donnie Yen is the villain in 5, out for revenge.

Okay buddy. I still think you should check out documentaries sometime. They seem more like what you’re looking for. The rest of us will watch movies for entertainment. You know. The reason they are made. No one watches Titanic to learn about the hull integrity of early 20th century ships. If you want “respect for facts”, try a history class.

It's weird that people suddenly forgot he directed Hacksaw Ridge as well only a few years ago, and has been acting on and off too. Weirdos.

P.S: Watch Dragged Across Concrete. Fucking awesome.

The guy is a great director who knows how to capture good action sequences on film. A natural fit to direct a Lethal Weapon film. Donner lost his touch after the second one. Would I prefer Mel to be directing a different film? Definitely.

His sisters' porn release was interesting afterwards.

Did he ever comment on it?

Dunno, but, she's all natural and has a nice body. It's thinner than what I'd normally go for, but she's pretty well proportioned/endowed for her frame. Exceptional Milkers, S-tier.

Perpetually Offended
Remind me again, please, what Mel did to offend.

His then wife recorded his drunken calls to her where he yells at her saying "I hope you get raped by a pack of ni**ers!" And some other antisemitic crap. I think he said something else racist about Latinos, too.

Couldn't give a shit about his personal transgressions but i do fucking hate the guy for giving a generation of Scots ideas above their station with his historical 'Braveheart' movie bullshit.:messenger_grinning_smiling:

I don’t know. The idea that saying some stupid, racist bullshit should stain your entire life when Hollywood gives awards to Roman Polanski and Woody Allen is insane to me. I guess the lesson is that it’s ok to actually abuse underage girls, but if you say bad words on the phone, you don’t get to move on ever.

Don’t get me wrong. What Gibson said was bad. But at the end of the day, he said mean words, while drunk and angry. I don’t think it should be defended. I just think it’s being completely blown out of proportion because it’s a easy way for people to feel good about themselves, particularly on the internet.

Mike Tyson gets work constantly and he's a convicted rapist. I don't know what the standards are. It's really strange.

Was hoping he'd come back with a Marvel movie so I can laugh at the reactions. His last few movies were fantastic. Apocalypto is still imo the industry standard on how to make a real period movie.

Apocalypto was absolutely fucking incredible.

Is he still planning to make a sequel to the Passion of Christ?

It could have a cool, badass name like Christ: Resurrection or Christ: Reloaded or something, and it would be totally fitting.
