It's very tempting but $20 is too much. If it were AoE2 I will do it.
This is the first actual Windows Store exclusive with a game that has a lot of possitive bagage and with actual marketing behing, I think MS wants to test how much it can sell. If they actually want the game an active community, they will release it on steam. Which I'm not too sure how it will affect the AoE2 community.

I don't care about the Steam version I will buy it on the Windows Store my only complain is the lack of sales and userbase for the future of the franchise 
But the questions is, how would you look there.
The fan base and games has moved to steam though.

it's tough to know with the CD version
the steam release was about 9 years later than it should have been. people made msn gaming zone replacements in the interim where a lot of the MP community plays

The big announcement was that you pay for a digital title before it launches, exclusively on Windows Store? A smack in the face.
