Is US only as far as i know
No one is getting all the maps free, plus the LE didn't just come with maps.
Packet, specializations, game items, etc. Yeah the maps were a big draw, but you shouldn't have got the LE if you just wanted maps, the stand alone pass was a better deal. (Then at least)
Please Cyclone don't even start trying to say this isn't as bad as all say, it is.
This is a great idea for future pre order DLC. The people that want to pay for it can pay for it and the people that don't can get it for free. Good deal.
Microsoft made a mistake that favors some users temporarily, and the PR department might not be helping with their spin. However, as customers, should we be mad that more people get to enjoy these maps? Does the fact someone gets something for free temporarily devalues what we own? I see a very sad attitude among gamers who are complaining about this. The whole industry from publishers to users has gone to hell.
I was curious on Halo 4, but between this and the word of mouth of many Halo fans I know, I'm quickly realizing this is the worst entry in the whole series. I wasn't that into Halo but it sounds disappointing.
IF its temporary Im pretty sure everyone would be fine with it. It does not sound like it will be temporary though.
I'm saying people that bought the LE just for the map pass paid too much already.
Halo 4 has been the shittiest game launch I have ever been involved with. Fucking embarrassing.
Hey Microsoft.
Can I have my money back now?
I won't buy Halo 5 until you refund me.
Thanks,
Bye.
Yeah, that sounds like people grasping at straws based on vague wording from an Xbox.com support forum post ("complimentary access period", which I take to mean "until we patch out our mistake because oh god we're losing money"). I don't even know if I'd want it to be temporary. The DLC adoption rate seems to be pretty high. I'd just like my cash back if they're treating it like a promotion and not a glitch - the underhanded weaseling they're trying to do with it disgusts me far more than the actual mistake.IF its temporary Im pretty sure everyone would be fine with it. It does not sound like it will be temporary though.
The core gamplay is fine. Too bad they went and made it some weird COD/Halo hybrid that no halo fan wants.
Just seems like overreaction. How bout we wait and see what they do? Or would people rather lose their shit over $10 and not even see what MS comes back with after the press covers this?

Paper, lots and lots of paper. One of the worst LE's ever.So what did I actually get with the LE???

And the people who bought this map pack. Sure, sounds good to me.Just give map pass/LE owners 800 MS points and let this pack stay free. The game gets a much needed player boost and everyone's happy.

No, they're giving away the map pack for a limited time. It'll be on your hard drive forever and it will never be taken away. They are NOT saying that you have limited time to play the maps.
can someone tell me how I'm supposed to get the map pack now? it's 800msp on marketplace still, nothing in my download queue (only the 108kb unlock key).
Choose the Xbox Live Marketplace menu option from Halo 4's main screen.can someone tell me how I'm supposed to get the map pack now? it's 800msp on marketplace still, nothing in my download queue (only the 108kb unlock key).

Your defense levels are ridiculous at this point dude.
What the hell am I defending? I am noting that if you just wanted maps, the separate pass is the better deal for most. Has nothing to do with free maps.
Everyone is overreacting.
I bought the standard game and the maps. I'm still out approximately $8.33 because of this, or about 10% of my total purchase.
I had 10% of my purchase for this game essentially stolen from me.
I have every right to be pissed.

Unless you're reading a different notice, it gives people who played the game in the first 14 days one week of access to the Crimson Map pack. I'm unclear how that takes 8.33 out of your pocket.

I with you about nearly all other points of the game and forum discourse surrounding it, but not this one. This is clearly a fuckup. One that severely devalues the LE further.

Think. Use that stuff between your ears for something other than padding, if the map pack is on your hard drive it's not coming off.
This whole game is just a hot mess. Reserving my official judgments on 343 for Halo 5 though; giving them the benefit of the doubt for this one.
