Beam...actually had a lot of marketing potential IMO. It was unique and catchy. Mixer...is just another name. Too bad, it had potential.
It had no marketing potential, since they couldn't trademark it globally.

Let's get used to that name, it's not that bad.
Important is the service itself: and it's a really great service, great quality, etc.

Well, yeah, MS has no issue with that. No way in hell Sony would do that tho.
4 the players tho... rite?
Beam was a better name, but whatever. Co-op streaming is cool.

microsoft is very platform agnostic with their services these days, so its only a matter of time.
It's already been changing. Have you been to Beam before the buyout?

you can stream any game on pc with it. just hit win+g when in a game. Not buying unless it comes to Steam.
It's all web based, can't playstation users just use their web browser?
They are trying to protect their consumers breh.

Lol that they embargoed this *huge* news.
It's... Pretty big news? It's more than just a name change, they added a pretty significant feature its competitors lack (co-streaming) as well as a big marketing push from MS with their NYC Mixer studio.Lol that they embargoed this *huge* news.
I preferred Beam. It is also so dangerously close to Mixlr that I don't know if this is a good idea.

I'm shocked that MS didn't go balls out to acquire the rights to that brand worldwide.
Beam is SUCH a better name than Mixer. I'm excited for the new features but I don't see this service getting as much of an audience as it could have had if they had retained the branding, which is a damn shame.
Beam was a better name. Mixer sounds like either a music site, or a hookup site.

Why would Sony have an issue with Mixer on PlayStation?
They don't have a competing Streaming service.
