Middle Age GAF.....Have you had success with hair restoration products?

Nizoral is a antifungal shampoo containing ketoconazole and long term use can cause hair loss.

Nah seriously, I work in a Pharmacy and I assume you do given your username so how did you not know this? 🤔
First I ever heard of that. Nizoral is one of the "big 3" people stack due to its mild anti androgen effect

Just go to Turkey, it actually works. Know plenty that have gone will be going myself once borders reopen if you’re serious no point wasting time with snake oils.

Transplants range from perfect to terrible. I wouldn't cheap out on it, in those countries there is barely any regulation.

That and there is no aftercare when you travel abroad.

I went abroad for dentistry to Hungary, I was lucky they had an office in Ireland. This was back when it was fashionable to go to eastern Europe for healthcare, ads constantly on the TV and billboards.

They botched one tooth up, office in Ireland then pulled it out and charged me (basically in Hungary glued a tooth fix back in, office here was shocked and then the thing kept falling apart). Charged me twice, once for gluing a makeshift fix and then for the eventual extraction. Thankfully was a molar but it was a massive pain in the ass with the visits.

Funnily enough that place ceased to exist here not long afterwards. The other work they did seems to be OK thank Christ but I'll never go abroad again for anything like that. There is next to no recourse if things don't go to plan.

A transplant only last the life of a hair which is max 10 years. It's expensive for what's it for. Plus you want a single hair follicle transplant and not by bunch. Also, many transplants do with a strip of hair removed from the neck, which leaves a big scar. When you'll lose your hair "again", it will be def ugly. Good hair transplants are rare, took me years to find a good one. I actually prefer my hair tattoo, looks way better.

Only thing that works is propecia, minox, nizoral and dermarolling. Also there is RU58841 but that is experimental and I would not use it. Just know that if you do any or all of these it is a lifetime commitment. There might be some side effects also, if I were you I would visit a dermatologist and ask him for advice first.

I used Rogaine for about six months when I was 24. The itching was terrible and it didn't seem to make a difference. At 27 I came to terms with it, grew a beard and shaved my head.

I wouldn't have a problem if I had hair loss, I'd just shave it and move on. My buddy started balding around his 30th birthday and it really fucked with him. He really put a good majority of his identity behind his hair. He tried all this different bullshit to regrow and it never happened, he even used this gross ass spray paint shit to "fill" in the balding, but it got everywhere and would stain shit his head touched. He eventually came to terms with it and just shaved it all and grew a beard and it looks much better than him trying to cover/comb over/etc.

Me though?

Like others have said, just let it go. The longer you try to hold on, the more your going to feel shame from trying to hide it.

Shave it in the spring and get some sunlight on it, and you too can join the bald and the beautiful.

Cage balded and got a hair transplant. :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Try Kirkland’s Minoxidil. It might buy you a few years. It slows down the hair loss process after a few months of use. I’m 30 and using it twice a day. It has been effective at stopping the early hair loss I got in recent years.

Other than that, why not try hair transplant? It really works for some people.

What's your diet ? Eat a lot of veggies greens roots beans fruits nuts and seeds. Hair requires a lot of nutrients and energy throughout the day just blend some smoothies and drink up also make sure to exercise frequently; a lot of walking/cardio and get rest regularly.

Yeah same here maybe I'm one of the rare few but Minoxidil has worked for me....the thing is you have to keep using it diligently and not get lazy. Put as much as that shit on your scalp as you can...the more the better.

The thing is once you start you can't stop, and I think it gradually loses its effectiveness though. For me in the first 6 months or so I had amazing results but after about a year the hair is getting thinner again.

I am assuming you mean for a hair transplant? Why Turkey in particular? I was thinking about overseas options but never did any research on a particular country.

They’re we’ll known for being the best in the world for it at this point, it’s what they specialise in.

If you dig deeper you’ll see this when researching anywhere abroad to do it, as with everything fine the most reputable company but I’m sure there is YouTube, Reddit or Facebook groups with progress and recommendations.

My barber over the last 10 years who goes back every year has a real solid person he knows personally who all boys have gone to the before and after is incredible.

you just learn to live with it. Most women 90% really doesn’t care if you are bald. If you really feel bad about it personally and don’t want to shave get hair transplant it is the only solution that works unfortunately.

lol not everyone can rock the bald head man

Just own it.

Ask yourself the main question: why do you want to stop/reverse the hair loss? Is it for yourself, or for others? If it's for others, forget about it. Shave it and own it like a boss.

When I had hair, I used to do pretty well with the ladies. When I shaved my head... I started doing even BETTER than I already was. Because as it turns out, when you're confident, no one (family, friends, romantic interests, etc) gives a fuck if you're bald or not.
It's not about confidence as much as having a correct head shape and face to match being bald. Some men can pull off the bald look with no problem, others will become the laughing stock. Some men that have slightly receding hairlines are the subject to constant "jokes" (really just a form of bullying) so you can imagine how they'll be treated once they go fully bald.

Sorry buddy. My hair is amazing and will never fall out. Don't have any advice for you, just feeling empathy for you while gloating. 👍😎😉

The worst part of aging for me has been hair loss. It receded and thinned and for quite a while I could still grow it out on top and comb it and it looked ok. But now it is so thin on top there is hardly anything to comb. So sad. I have considered hair follicle transplants, but they are very expensive and could take multiple attempts or may not work at all. I guess I should just learn to live with it, but it is depressing looking at old photos and looking at my glorious hair.

No need to shave totally with razor, often it looks tragic.

Start with a number 2 or 3 or even a 4 clipper this can look much better.

As a man with good hair genetics who shaves his head anyway, just shave it bro. Nothing is more pathetic than a desperate man ashamed of his hair loss, it's no more your fault than your height or dick size.

Shaving your head is the equivalent of walking around with your balls out, rocking it is all about attitude. An assertive person with a weirdly shaped head is a baller compared to a weak person with a nicely shaped head, and it will be immediately evident.

Just shave guys, you will be so much happier.

It's an issue I can definitely empathize with. I'm not going to lie, I feel quite blessed that, even at 50 (and radiation for brain cancer, having all my hair fall out for a time), I don't even have a bald spot. Still curly, thick hair I have to have cut quite often, it grows so fast. That being said, as someone who sees many bald men, I don't think the comb-over thing is attractive at all; I can't imagine it would be to most women/men, either. I don't think being bald is necessarily unattractive, though.

Do you have a nice, full beard? My beard sucketh. I grow it out in the winter to help keep my face warm, but unfortunately, it's not very attractive on me, I don't think. If you can grow a nice beard, maybe focus on that instead.

Just a new observation from me. I'm beginning to feel that supplements actually have a much bigger effect than topical treatments like minoxidil, which might even be completely useless. You notice how all these treatment sites will always recommend a combination of both and never just minoxidil by itself.

Myself I've noticed that when I stopped taking the supplements and just stuck with minoxidil, any improvements I had quickly regressed.

If you go to any doctor, they would just prescribe Finasteride + Minoxidil combination. Even if you get hair transplant, you will still need take those supplements/topical treatments.
It's not about regrowing in the middle ages... it's more about keeping what you have now. Regrowing only happens if you have live follicles... and once they die off - then it's game over.

Having said so, for Northeastern Asian like me - it's really hard to find attractive bald Asian guy unlike other ethnicity/races.
I think the flat nature of our facial features have something to do with it.. as well as the head shape.

I’ve chosen to age naturally. My hair is thinning, but fuck it. The best days of my sex life are over, so I’ll just settle into my idgaf-what-you-think-about-me chapter of life and go bald and wear flannel pants outside and yell at kids who walk on my grass.

So, middle aged guy here losing hair on the top of my head. I see all sorts of things out there that supposedly help stop loss, and grow back hair too.

I don't want to deal with transplants, or surgery. Just wondering if any of yall had any experience with some stuff that actually works to regrow hair in areas where it's currently thin. Specifically, ive been reading about Nutrafol and it seems promising.....
lol no products work. Do you know why it’s easy to answer? Because the person who does find a cure for baldness will be the richest person to have ever lived.

Don’t waste your money. I am receding at the sides (mpb) and have a thin bit left. My kids don’t want me to shave my head totally, so I have the sides and back shaved off with a razor, and keep it short on top.

It is what it is

Working well for me. Maybe they just don’t work for everyone.

Finasteride and minoxidil spray. Posted some progress pics above. Costs about $80 a month, so about the same as my wife’s beauty treatments (which is convenient!). There’s a bunch of companies that sell online now in AUS. You just fill out a few questions, upload pics of your hair and they send it out to you.

This is my progress just under 6 months. I was sceptical, but very impressed with the results. Been balding since early 20’s.

Congrats man, seems treatment is working great for you.

There is alot of ignorance on this topic, people still think there is absolutely nothing you can do to save your hair from balding. Treatment is not perfect and it does not work for everyone like you said but when it does you get these amazing results.
