- Pay to play less of the game you paid $60 to play.- Paid Cheat Codes.
- Undermining what's supposed to be a crafted game progression balance.
- Pay to play less of the game you paid $60 to play.
And the usual 'you can get everything w\o paying' comment that fails to understand that the game can still be manipulated and game design decisions made to urge and push players to spend real money.
I thought I couldn't be less interested in this
I would love to see the stats for how well this sort of paid content does in SP games. My impression was that it didn't do that well in SP Assassin's Creed or Deus Ex, but I don't have receipts for that.
You enjoy wasting money on a digital trinket lottery?
For me loot boxes are, normally, a deal breaker. I don't mind cosmetics only boxes like overwatch but when it "affects" the progression then i just skip the game. I just don't have the patience to do the same thing over and over again to unlock a buff necessary to progress on the game.
I know I sound like a fucking old man but remember cheat codes?
Stuff like this just completely ruins the fantasy of the game. Zero anticipation for this game now.

I think eventually some of you guys will come to the realization that some people actually want, like and request this feature (not me, i bought loot crates once and completely got that out of my system, I'm good, its not for me).
Typically cheat codes kill in game progress or achievements. Hacking/modifying things can make your account disappear. People want a legitimate avenue to speed up progress without sinking 100's of hours into a game as not everyone has that kind of time to devote to a game.
If you think about it, you could be walking around with all of the same gear, or better, than someone else sitting there with their wallet $50 lighter, simply because you're more observant, up for a bigger challenge or knowing where to invest your time for maximum output or whatever. Once you realize that it kind of takes they clamouring to spend away. It's for people with more money than time to invest who are looking for for ways to maximise their time and enjoyment.
Also you guys know damn well unlocking everything from to go is a fast way to kill any sense enjoyment and wanting to explore a deep and massive game. If someone wants to pay extra to do that, its hard to hold them being weird as fuck against them.
Just my opinion for whatever it's worth. I don't buy them as a general point, but i know why some people do. My only issue is when ingame currency progress feels particularly neutered, in those cases, fuck that.

Good effort, but I refuse to believe this does not alter the game design in a negative way.
This game looks like garbage and sounds like garbage.
I'll buy
Where's my option to play this game without worrying the balance is jacked to entice me to pay?Seems fine to me. Optional stuff is exactly that.. Optional. That being said, I'll probably buy some gold lol.
See, there are games where this doesn't. Res Rev 2 had currency for revives in the Raid mode but you get the crystals so often that it you never have to spend real money for more. I used to be against this but I'm willing to wait and see.
Then maybe games shouldn't be designed to have 100's of hours of bullshit to justify a $60 price, only to then require additional payment to remove the 80 hours of crap to take it back down to a fun, reasonable game length? If the actual game is fun enough, you can replay it. There, lots of extra game time without spending a single dollar on development.
I love Shadow of Mordor, so it's a shame that I probably won't be picking this up now.
