do US mailmen throw packages through the window or something? I ordered mugs and they came in one piece.

Oh my god, the thumbs up.
How many Toyotas could she buy if she sold that box, mint, today?
Heck yeah it was!
Still, it would have been nice if it had met all of its stretch goals. Oh well, maybe one day they'll just say whatever and add those missing goals into the game using their own funds.
Which reminds me that I should be getting news about the backer rewards for Half-Genie Hero in August.
Okay. Sorry. I'll stop defending the bad guy. I'll root for Inafune. Won't talk bad about the game again.
Don't bring Trump in here.
Oh yeah, that train is still not done crashing.
Some backers of the physical GAME BOX edition of Mighty No.9 started receiving their reward and...

It's just a box. An empty box.
And a manual.
And you have to assemble the box yourself.
And the manual doesn't fix in the box.
Out of the loop perhaps, but what has Howard done to deserve to be part of this masterpiece?
Why the fuck does the guy on the video have nails like Dracula?
Has the person who paid $10k to get a dinner with inafune gotten their reward? Last I heard the answer was still no
one. a really crappy used one.
And he wasn't the director.soul sacrifice was good tho.
While I feel bad for the backers of this embarrassing Kickstarter effort, I feel far more sympathy for the damage this disaster has inflicted on up and coming people who no longer have as vibrant a platform on which to try and make their ideas into a full product. It would be bad enough if this was just mismanagement, but nowhere has it come accross that the team even gives a shit or feels like backers are entitled to more than the absolute stingiest definition of the least they can reasonably get away with.
To have such an icon in the industry show such little regard for anyone involved, while at the same time kneecapping potential up and comers isn't just a sign of poor management or budgeting, it actually says a lot about the ethics and character of the people running it.
Just a quick look at any thread covering this game in the last few years is evidence enough of how many people have been burned by this and don't feel confident backing something in the future because of it.
It is hard to believe they could mess things up this badly unintentionally.
MN9 and Bloodstained don't understand that 2.5D doesn't have to be ugly and cheap looking.
Sounds about right. MN9 was supposed to be the middle finger to capcom, but in the end, Inafune gave the middle finger to the fans.
It's probably gonna be a coloring book you gotta color yourself.
That does seem to be the case, doesn't it?The whole kickstarter debacle reeked of incompetence mixed with a little bit of "fuck you."
They should both have gone for a pixel art look or somefin like Skullgirls/Indivisible instead of the awful awful awful 2.5 or whatever look they chose for both games.MN9 and Bloodstained don't understand that 2.5D doesn't have to be ugly and cheap looking.
The thread title is misleading, no? They never promised a physical version of the game. The kickstarter page clearly said it's a physical box plus manual and they deliver exactly that. The only fucked up thing is that the manual doesn't fit the box and how long it took for them to finally ship it.
The problem is money does not equal competence. I have worked on very well funded projects which failed spectacularly because of bad senior management, inept employees, poor project management, bad technical decisions, infighting, etc. I have also worked on teams which succeeded with relatively small budgets.
Basically, well funded projects have a lot more options than regular projects but it doesn't mean that the project's leaders will make wise decisions or won't spend the money on the wrong things. For example, Daikatana (http://www.ign.com/games/daikatana/ps-2040) was lavishly funded (for a 1997-2000 game) and it was probably a terrible game (I didn't play it but it was universally panned).
While true, why the hell would anyone want an empty box with no game? Like, what's the point?

Probably tacos with the janitor or some intern 🌮
lmao
Damn, that's messed up.
"The only ridiculous things are these two very ridiculous things"Seems like a clickbait thread, no?
Either that or OP didn't realize what the KS reward was.
The only ridiculous thing is how long it took them to send it out, and the manual not fitting.
Yeah, im never trusting inafune again until he proves himself again. What an embarassment.
