The Phillies have really missed out on an opportunity to get to within one or two games of the Wild Card. They shouldn't be blowing games to Houston if they want to make the playoffs.

Correct. The fact they are going to split a series with the Astros is a failure. Losing 3 out of 4? Should be automatic dismissal from the playoffs.

Clint Hurdle just announced James McDonald has been booted out of the rotation. He will move to the bullpen starting on Tuesday.

Kyle McPherson is taking McDonald's spot in the rotation.

Thanks for the quick decision making Hurdle, it's not like this move shouldn't have been made weeks ago.

What sucks for the Pirates, Brewers, and Phillies is that WC#2 is guaranteed a win today since both teams are playing each other, so they won't gain a game on anyone.

I don't really care about our position in relation to the wild cart, I just want the Pirates to finish off the season strong and do right by us.
