Episode 2

A bro-con imouto appears! Hasebe pranking Lucy never gets old. I can't remember if Lucy ends up cosplaying with Chihaya later on, but it could be hilarious. Also why aren't these public servants doing any actual work?

Episode 2

Still a lot of fun but I do hope we can keep the show about the adults rather than about the adults dealing with a tsundere sister. Chihaya's cosplay obsession is going to feed into the climax somehow I can feel it in bones, she will not rest until she completes the full set.

Eps #1-2

...I don't think I actually like how much everything revolves around character gags, with the slacker guy slacking, hitting on girls and yobisute-ing everyone, the textbook tsundere brocon doing what they all do, the wimpy girl being wimpy, the otaku freak to the max senior girl constantly talking about cosplay and eyeing Lucy's boobs, or even Lucy herself having a laughable grudge and always being taken for a ride by the other characters and their quirks.

Of course it's still pretty early, but I really don't like when characters appear to be built exclusively around a single all-encompassing quirk, and only get gags that beat that quirk to the ground by repeating the same joke formula over and over. Then again I don't tend to watch sitcoms, and I guess this is pretty much one in anime form.

Hasebe is a man of multi faces I see. I can't really read him. On one hand he is your typical 20 something womanizer, but on the other hand, he smart and has some heart. I was thinking they were going to try and ship bossman and Lucy, but they actually showed a couple different possible "Lucy Routes" in this episode.

Yeah, it's pretty tropey, but I think execution-wise, this is done much better than your typical anime focused on H.S students. The gags in this are definitely more in-tune with the "20 something" office culture and how co-workers interact. Even the boob jokes while redundant, are pretty funny. I think it's actually kind of refreshing to not have the male "friends/coworkers" getting all red-faced and blushing about it or the typical LN trip and fall on top of her for a face/handful.

Bossman you mean Ichimiya? No, I cant see that. Cant even imagine it.

Yup, but then again I wouldn't exactly celebrate the mere lack of Rito-isms and LN tropes...

I like it most when shows give their cast their own character arcs, however minor, to flesh them out a bit and make them feel less one-dimensional. We're just two episodes into the series so far though, so I guess I'll have to wait and see what happens; I only wish it doesn't work like Anne-Happy did, because I got bored of its repeating gags after five or so episodes.

Thankfully I skipped Anne-Happy, so I'm putting my faith that they continue to grow the characters like they did in Working...

Who will receive a workplace sexual harassment warning first, Hasebe or Ichimya? The skit with Lucy's bra was pretty funny and Hasebe got to do some cool stuff.
Lol anytime i see a character with an ahoge i get a compulsion to cut it off.

Ahh....Lucy is clueless as you expect from her. You can see this when in two incidents which make you wonder how clueless she really is. Love the Lucy broken bra act as you can see everyone know about it but don't want to be the 1st one to tell her the truth as it's embarrassing. Thankfully, Hasebe manage to find an accuse which manage to get Lucy out of the work.

Also, stick with Hasebe, he start to be actually not a bad person based on few scenes which he help Lucy in a sticky situation. You start to realize the reason he is lazy is maybe he just don't push himself and will only do it when he need to. Also, the development between Lucy and him look like it might stronger and will get somewhere if this continue.

Overall, a fun episode to watch and you start to know more of Lucy and Hasebe characters which is interesting to watch.

NOTE: The final scene where Lucy tell Hasebe here breast size is fun to watch. Make you realize how easy you can get Lucy to tell you her secret if you help her alot.

Episode 3
Well, I'm glad the bra problem didn't result in silliness like the men getting nose bleeds, but rather just awkwardness. The episode was alright.

I think I'm enjoying the adult workplace themes too much, lol. The Chihara x Hasabe battle over Lucy is hilarious. Also, the pink bear for a manager is priceless. Then, poor lightweight Lucy getting carried to a "love" motel, lol. This should be an interesting episode tomorrow.

I think Hasabe will do the right thing.

Now, it's kinda confirm Yutaka is trying to get Lucy to be his girlfriend and it's working as Lucy is clueless of what she is doing even if her friend warmed her about it. Kinda scary how Lucy didn't see all of it. Almost make her an easy prey for Yutaka.

Also, an introduction of a new character, Yutaka, who is the section director but also a stuff bunny. Very random I have to say.

The Megumi and Yutaka battle over Lucy is interesting to see where it goes as both need Lucy for different reason. Man...Megumi need for Lucy is getting scary when you consider she want her for her cosplay team dress.

The final scene where Lucy is drunk and Yutaka take her to the Love Hotel after the dinner party will get interesting to watch. Will Yutaka take advantage of Lucy in her state she is in? Well......

Overall, more fun in this workplace show.

Well...I am liking the show very much right now that I am now going to finish the entire show tonight. I won't participate of each episode impression but will post a final impression of the show when I am done. Man...need this type of show after going through Grantz and I still need to get that show done also.

Is this gonna be NTR? No...oh thank god for that lol.
Good set of episodes, the office romance stuff provides a lot of funnier material. Nice to see Hasebe be out trolled by his sister. Hasebe confirmed to be only one of 9 people in Japan to have an xbox.

Is it just me or is everyone super kinky in this?

Welp, a busy weekend for me :-\

Episode 3

I liked how Hasebe casual harassment is totally lost on Lucy. And of course Hasebe forgetting to ask for Lucy's email at the most opportune moment was funny too.

Episode 4

This episode reminds me of a little manga titled Kawaii Joushi o Komarasetai (or, I Wanted to Bother My Cute Boss) where a pair of co-workers begin a relationship after a new employee escorting his drunken boss home. Hasebe dragging drunken Lucy away by her ahoge gets a chuckle out of me. The next episode should be fun!

Anyone think they missed a trick not going to the Wagnaria restaurant in episode 4? Surely the two series could cross over kind of.

Lol, poor Ichiya. Shocking reveal with his relationship with Chihiya, but he really needs to man up and treat her properly. Loved him getting called out for having a "sister" complex, loke Toko, lol. Good outcome to drunken Lucy as well, Hasabe is a good dude afterall, but XBox games in Japan? That's just not right man..

Lol, true. Could have been good with Shorty coming out to serve. The better fit could have been in ep.5 with the parfait visit, lol.

Just finish the entire show just now and have to say I am a bit disappointed of the ending from the last episode to end the show. I guess they didn't have enough episodes or the manga wasn't done when the show air as the ending feel rush and different a bit.

I would recommend for the people who watch the show to read the last volume of the manga to see the real ending as it end quite well and much better than on the TV show.

I would post my final impression sometime this week after I finish a major work here which will stop me watching any anime for 4 days. Still, a very good show and would recommend people to watch it and then read the manga.

Episode 3

Hasebe gets rounded out a lot this episode and it's clear his routine is as much about controlling people by putting them off balance as it is about him being a lecher. His learning sign language is a great way to get across that he does care about the people just not the process.

The show continues to centre itself on Lucy's chest but at least the gags are original and people's reactions are realistic. Everybody twigs what's happened to Lucy but are too embarrassed to broach it until Hasebe comes up with a face saving way for everybody to win. Ichimiya remains one of the less interesting characters and his sister is pure trope right now but at least he and the show recognise that Hasebe's behaviour is actionable sexual harassment (I like that even he can't believe Lucy hasn't told him to f-off yet).

I really like this show, it's dense so that each episode feels longer than it's running time but not in 'oh god why won't it end' kind of way

Episode 4
Edit: Episode 5 OK it seems I was so into this I watched two in a row without noticing, ha!

Hasebe is growing on me more and more, he actually reacts like an adult and is respectful of others, he's just a clean straight up horndog. Kouru is just the best I hope we get a lot more of her as this show goes on. Senran Kagura insert and in a thematically appropriate way! Hasebe's 'blood related' burn is so on point it hurts. Chihaya is starting to make more sense and may be an even better manipulator than Hasebe, at last Miyoshi is starting to show some personality. Damn even Toko and Ichimiya are getting some depth here sure it's tropey but done well thus far. Bunny-sensei is the weirdest damn thing, not sure why he couldn't just be a shy elderly manager but whatever.

The writing is so sharp here, I may have to move Working! up the list, does it keep the same adult focus?

Episode 4
I'm not a fan of this obsession with Lucy's body, but I liked the old woman reacting to Chihaya's outburst by extending her conversation with Miyoshi. It's kind of silly that this office environment still has the characters randomly go to the roof.

The section manager communicating through a stuffed animal is amusing, though with the gag of Chihaya stepping on him, I feel like it's a bit too close to Kon in early Bleach. Yamagami thinking Hasebe was trying to make her fat was amusing. After all the sexual harassment jokes, I'm not a fan of this plot with Yamagami getting drunk.

Episode 5
Well, that prank with Hasebe's sister got me. I'm glad they didn't actually go to a hotel.

I was amused by how Yamagami described her experience to her boss. Ichimiya's girlfriend turning out to be Chihaya was a real shock. The scene with Chihaya at Ichimiya's house was more uncomfortable than anything.

Episode 6
The fact that Toko has an actual friend is surprising. Miyoshi unintentionally insulting people was amusing.

Oh poor Saya-chan, lol. Looks like Hasabe knows who this lucky guy is too, so this should be fun! I'm expecting the worst for her/him, lol. Good stuff

Episode 5

So Hasebe's sister is fine to have a threesome with her brother and Lucy, huh. That is not weird at all. Ichimiya and Chihaya's relationship is already dysfunctional. Hilarity will ensues when Ichimiya has to choose between Toko or Chihaya.

Episode 6

I liked the bit with Hasebe and Miyoshi just talking in the Library. Also Miyoshi's probably the cruelest girl ever, with those rejections, lol.

Ah hahahaha

"BL"

Saw that one coming but it was still pretty funny. Chihara is becoming on of my favorites since she is so much fun and watching her tease poor Ichiya (and Toko alike) is great stuff.

Answer my own question: Yes, yes they are.

Tanaka a little tsundere for Hasebe was cute.

tsun tsun Tanaka, lol..

been looking for something to watch and stumbled across this thread.
ep 1 was fun enough where I wouldn't mind binging the next 12 episodes over the next few days.

couple of things:
-this thing's not gonna leave the office for one second is it? those 20 minutes went by like a shot, and there's only 13 episodes, so I guess that's cool
-the civil worker Lucy is looking for
has gotta be Hasebe's dad right? they slipped in real quick at the end of episode 1 that he's a third generation civil worker
-Hasebe's gonna need a helmet

Cornbread78

Member
Oh Lucy, just give in already, your giving Hasabe a complex now. That BL dude needs to go away, he's taking screen tine away from the rest of the office crew! The show still continues to be a ton of fun to watch!

Lol, been thinking the same thing, lol. It's almost too obvious.

Jesus did Tanaka get his dating advice from Griffith? Love the really docile way Miyoshi says "heartless bastard"-the nicest sounding insult ever.
Hype increasing for date episode.

LOL, poor Hasabe... Man, life is suffering for our office man. The whole Lucy getting married mistake which caused him to smash his phone was hilarious; poor dude is trying so hard and Lucy is just oblivious...

Im at my wits end with Ichiyama. I want him to man up at least once before the end and do something right for Chiyaha. Take a page out of Hasebe's book and learn from how smooth he was at the end.

Whoops I'm a bit behind.

Episode 7/8

I like Toko's friend and the reaction faces she makes. It's a mystery why Chihaya likes Ichimiya for such a flimsy reason ("he seems nice"). Now Miyoshi needs to hook up with Jyoji so that all the pairings will be complete. hehehe.

Episode 7
Ichimiya seriously needs to treat Chihaya better. I didn't expect the younger Tanaka to be so obsessed with Hasebe.

Episode 8
I liked that Lucy wanted to get revenge on the public servant who accepted her name form by forcing his grandchild to have a name like hers.

You know, I think I prefer when the focus is on characters other than Lucy and Hasebe.

She actually turned a corner for me in the last episode. I mean she realises she is a burden on her brother in a way, and she dosen't really seem to want to follow him and become a civil servant.

She just needs someone else to re-direct that love towards...but there's no one to ship her with:(. Maybe her friend i dunno...

Lol, I doubt they were go with the yuri ship with the bosses daughters, lol.

I don't know, I kinda hope she goes away gor a couple episodes so they can focus on the other office ships.

Tanaka must have a liver made of iron. 6 bottles of wine and he's not even tipsy.
Tanaka and Miyoshi make a surprisingly cute couple.

Episode 9
Chihaya is a temp worker, yet she's been there for two years? When Miyoshi told Hasebe about his sister getting married, and Hasebe misinterpreted it as Lucy getting married, I didn't get why Miyoshi would say that until I went back and saw how the phone ringing and Toko calling out covered up his sister's name.

Episode 10
Those desserts look good. I'm glad Miyoshi know about Chihaya and Ichimiya, and is plainly telling Jyoji Tanaka to leave everyone alone, even if it didn't quite work. Toko reacting to everyone talking to the stuffed animal was funny.

Episode 11
The section manager controls the stuffed animal remotely, so couldn't he try to contact the rest of the staff another way? Miyoshi going around dropping bombs on everyone was fun, along with older Tanaka stopping her in the street. Oh hey, Jyoji Tanaka and Miyoshi actually seem like a nice couple when he isn't obsessed with Hasebe. Jeez, Miyoshi can't hold a drink either?

Its a bit of a shame that the final episode looks like it'll focus on Lucy's silly name sub-plot. Oh well at least Hasebe can introduce his future wife to the family lol.
Lucy scrubs up well for the date though, wish we could have seen a little more of them together though.

If you have the chance, go read the final volume of the manga. No joke, just buy the last volume of the manga and start reading. You should see the real ending of this show and it's much more complete than on the TV series. Hell, all the arches from the characters in the show quite well in the manga than on the TV show. Trust me.

I need to catch up on these episodes, it's just tough when I'm on vacation.

I always wanted to check this one out. I've heard great things about it, but mostly from people I don't trust much. The thing is, it's so damn long.

Anyway, what I really want to say is: THERE IS A GAF-CHAN? Is it official?
