Yes unless they have a fancy filter. There are filters that filter spaces and other chars. I've seen filters that filtered out FVVV<<< K and weird stuff like that.
Yes, you can bind hide chat to a key and disable auto join team and group voice channels

Apparently, "ez" on its own isn't effected. So, it's currently piss easy to get round. I imagine that "gg 2ez" will basically replace it overnight.

Presumably the implication is "your team was such complete trash that it was easy for us to beat you". If you're on the losing team, you wouldn't want this said to you for obvious reasons.
It's a childish brag, normally used by douchebags. Get it a lot in rocket league.
If someone beat me 20-0 they would have every right to describe it as easy. But you get people who stay quiet all match if they're drawing or losing, then get lucky with one goal ahead and proceed to talk trash on how easy it is. It happens frequently.

I don't play overwatch either but I don't think saying something that's basically a "lol you suck" should be welcomed or encouraged in any way, even if the people you played against really do suck.
