The only problem with having a software only or hardware lite tuesday conference, is for people who miss or skip tomorrow's direct video.

IGN, The Verge, Joystiq... i'm sure plenty of others have not posted about the Nintendo Direct tomorrow, now several hours after it came to light.

their writers have been waiting for tuesday to get hardware information, so if they miss or skip tomorrow... then on tuesday they will say what the hell where's my hardware information!

I don't think we should expect the kitchen sink tomorrow. I think there has to be a significant chunk of hardware time in the actual conference because that's what the conference is for afterall. tomorrow would be very general i think... just enough to make headlines around the newssphere and get everyone ready for monday's third party conferences. Then tuesday would be in depth OS perhaps.
The video's not going to disappear off the face of the internet after tomorrow. I'm sure they will definitely see it. As a matter of fact, I don't think Nintendo has ever emailed people regarding Nintendo Direct before.

yeah they are communicating very well with their community. Their PR and Social Marketing is really on their A game this E3.

I just want this strategic direct video to be a positive, but I can see it sparking at least minor confusion with some if they undercut too much from what people expect in the conference.
you're right though... we shall just tell people to go watch it :D

Would be better than Metroid Prime 3.

I... er... wha...

Fuck this.

Didn't Project HAMMER turn into another game and then a lot of people who worked on it quit or moved to other projects and then the Project HAMMER sourcefiles thrown into a truck and driven into the Pacific Ocean and set on fire and shot with a machine gun

I'm thinking Nintendo is planning to include everything on it's e3 page and probably the wiiu page as well. Simply linking someone to the e3 nintendo page will give them this video for more Wii U details, the nintendo presser, and probably the software showcase. Make it a one stop WiiU place for the media and public to get all questions answered

It's no different from what they've done in the past, like after unveiling the 3DS at the E3 2011 conference they put up an Iwata Asks with Hideki Konno going into more detail on the background and features of the system.

Except this time that sort of stuff will be before the conference rather than after so third parties can talk about it.

They've already said that they won't be announcing that at E3. Will need to wait until August/September for that.

Eh, if that's the case my hype level just kinda dropped like my viagra just wore off. Oh well, less anticipation is probably the best with Nintendo anyways considering how many times they've let me down in the past.

I think there will be a quick recap on Tuesday.
Like "If you missed the last Nintendo Direct, here's the deal with Wii U's hardware. Now let's talk about gamessss."

Man that pic in the OP is why I have extreme appreciation for Nintendo out of the big 3. This pic tells you the relationship that Iwata, Miyamoto, and Reggie have...just amazing :)

Oh god, it's actually finally here! A day earlier than expected, and the E3 glory has began! I am so unreasonably hyped, just like every year

Tomorrow will be fantastic

What companies will show Wii U software on monday? Only Ubi and EA?

I wonder if for tuesday they will show some major third party game, I´m under the impression that monday is for 3rd party Wii U games, and tuesday for first party only.

In some ways, Metroid Prime 3 is the best in the Prime series, even if overall it's probably third.

With Echoes being the best, of course.

I think it's the tightest experience of all the Prime games. Whether or not that translates into best in the series is up to the player. For me, it is.

Yep, I definitely think it's the most streamlined. That's both a blessing and a curse, but on the positive side of things I can definitely say it has the best pacing of the three.

Is someone going to make an E3 chat to start tomorrow, because I have a feeling even tomorrow is going to get a lot of traffic now.

I haven't been following the Wii U hype bandwagon very closely since last E3, so what can we expect on the sofware side?

I'm quite hyped for a new Monolith Soft game + new Zelda, or any game of that type... is there any hope?

Streamlining for an adventure exploration game kind of goes against the purpose.

There were things I like about 3, like the controls, but being so linear isn't one of them.

Can't wait to see if we get a Metroid game soon. We probably won't though...

FINALLY some hype!

I mean, the six "WiiU threads" were pretty great, but in this last week people were incredibly quiet over here! It almost didnt feel like e3 was right round the corner

So you kids better get this body of yours ready cause i want to see threads with one billion pages in witch its almost impossible to discuss anything

I think they will focus in Wii U apps, networking, and hardware features, the rumor about Youtube, Tweeter and Facebook integration hopefully is true, that could be the reason of the big ram reserved for the OS, and the reason why Nintendo wants to show these nice features in a separate conference.
