Not really a "real" answer I guess but they said they get asked all the time, so some sort of combination of junkrats bomb and mei's ice wall they figure.

They also seem really into the lore, like possibly expect animated shorts for characters who don't have them, not just new characters.

How is it a cop out? This isn't the first time they answered this question. When the trailer was first released, I believe they responded to the same question and said it was a Junkrat bomb. They also said they cut the trailer that way because it looked cooler.

They could have come out and said it was for trailer purposes why she they put her up there.

The company Symmetra works for is, at best, a group of Well-Intentioned Extremists, and at worse a corrupt megacorp playing lip service to higher ideals. She herself seems to be somewhere on the Autism spectrum, and has something of a mania for order, but isn't totally sure she's doing the right thing by following orders. Bit of a mixed bag.

Doubt it'll be free. It's a 100+ page graphic novel, and I don't see why Dark Horse would want to publish it if they're giving it away free 5 months before. I wonder if the digital version is being rushed out to coincide with a new hero release though...

For the Shimada bros, imo it's just a representation of their Ki, there's a lot to read if you're interested on this topic.
And for Zen well, I always saw him as a robot able to provide frequencies and light healing at the same time, nothing fancy .
