I'm gonna put a Pachter hat on and do some pre-release speculation:
If the 360 has the same attach ratio as the PS3 this year, we will have 1.326 million 360s and 1.700 million Wiis sold in the UK in 2009.
It's pure speculation on my part.

Glad to see GOTY 2010 (Bayonetta) actually chart. I have zero expectations for its sales so I am pleasantly surprised it did so well.

Buying at the same rate means more total software sold on the 360 (in the UK), hence the "software beast" thingy.

Except the Wii is selling more software than any other console and is known as the Wii Sports/Wii Fit/Wii Play machine. The 360 is not top for total units, and is apparently not top for tie ratio in the UK, and it is still a 'software beast'.

You're correct, sorry. 11.9/2.8 = 4.25.

16.2m/4.5m = 3.6

(If you were using my 3.7 figure for PS3's tie ratio...sorry for the confusion!)

Actually, I think 360's 2009 tie ratio necessarily must be lower than PS3's. If it were 4.25 that mean an install base of ~3.8m... but 3.9m was reported as the 360's userbase in July. So it's kind of impossible I think.
