Just because a game is a buggy mess, doesn't mean it's not fun to play (especially with 3 ppl).DavidDayton said:Explain "buggy mess", if you please.
A turtle or a sloth is slow, you had 10 hours to make a more appealing thread but were too lazy to make one.Volcynika said:I was just about to make a thread about this! Too slow~

Or, you know, how you can get the Mana Sword about 10 minutes after acquiring the flammie drum.Phantom Flapjack said:I've played it a million times and the only bugginess that comes to mind is when characters disappear into walls and stuff around the gaps you use the whip to cross. And I guess sometimes Neko appearing/disappearing when he goes off screen

True. Also, technically the "rapid fire magic" is a bug that can be game breaking since you can launch in to it at the start of any boss fight and their dead before they even get the chance to move.Phantom Flapjack said:That doesn't affect the game at all and you have to read up to learn about it. Also, you can't get the Mana Sword otherwise, right? I always thought it was a neat secret

does the game come with bugs from birth ( was like that when it first came out ) or is the rom in the virtual console buggy??

leroy hacker said:The original is by far the buggiest top tier console game I've ever played. In particular, the collision detection system frequently doesn't make any sense. Also there are very strange issues with getting the highest level weapons that I have never understood.

Dragona Akehi said:Actually you can get it "legit". Enemies in. I've managed to get all the weapons up to level 9.The Mana Fortress drop Orbs for all weapons randomly
Syril said:I thought that wasfor every weapon except the sword. I thought for the sword you had to cast Mana Magic during the final battle.

Phantom Flapjack said:Enemies always, or almost always, make a clear dodging or blocking animation, or you'll hear a sound effect to know the attack registered but didn't "hit" or whatever (unless an enemy is in the "invincible" phase after being hit). I played through SoM a couple of years ago mindful of collision detection complaints and it just seemed to me that people weren't paying enough attention.
RedBoot said:Fun fact I learned today that I never knew about back in the day: in any area where you have your weapons out (ie. not in towns), hold the L and A buttons while pressing R 39 times, then release L and A and press R one more time. Oh, Nasir, you card.
