Are threats/hacks a real common occurrence for streamers/youtubers or just an unlucky few?

I remember when this thread used to only get bumped when somebody found naked people.

Dunno how hacks are possible if they are just streaming from the ps4 but seems like people get swatted and doxxed a bit. Super lame.

Classic thread. So much hype when PS4 came out. Whew.
I'm sure it's common, I think some unlucky few do get more extreme threats like for The Spartan Show :/ Internet can be a scary place sometimes lol

For bigger streams that get hundreds or thousands of viewers, hacking and DDOSing can be very common occurrences unfortunately. It's terrible.
It's more likely for talk shows like ours and Spartan because our Skype information is typically available and it's very easy to steal IP information through that.

It wasn't intended to be a subscriber paywall, but more of a way to be able to share the remastered version of our archived material. But! Your feedback is appreciated and therefore we have opened the archives.

Hey Spartan, I was a fan. I enjoyed the content you and your crew put out; I am genuinely attracted to streamers/youtubers that seen like good folk like you guys. I was wondering whatever happened to you guys. Anyways, thanks for the bump. I will give you a follow on twitch, and definitely open up your archive please.
And oh did it begin.
I like when things become unexpectedly successful. A few months later Sony even encouraged personal use of the Playroom with all those updates. Playroom porn died down thankfully and now there are mods keeping things in check. I don't like how streams get reported for no reason and banned though. Don't they check what's being reported before they do that?
Anyway it's nice to see this is still very active. I would of thought by now it would stop getting use. But it looks like the excitement is still there. Some hilarious streams out there still.

My friend got a PS4 a few months ago, he wasn't really upto scratch with the PS4 so I had to show him a lot of stuff. I introduced him to the live from playstation channel and he couldn't believe it.
We would go on and look for streams so I could show him the kind of stuff people stream. Within no time at all we saw sex, boozing, rapping, and some clearly unstable people. It's really funny / weird / disturbing what you can come across on there.

Also, it does suck that there are still a lot of false reports going on through PlayStation. Fortunately though, Twitch has put together sort of a white list of streamers that they know not to shut down even if they are reported. Our show and Spartan's are a part of that list = )

I remember that! Well, we're currently doing our first playthrough of Dark Souls and will be working our way through a number of new games in what we like to call the Quest of Completion! If you're interested in first time playthroughs with similar titles you should check it out!
Thanks so much! Although now we're streaming from a PC. This allows us to provide a much better product. But we did provide the developers of the AR Studio (Playroom DLC) with some help in creating a platform to help others deliver content similar to ours.
Well, we're back! We'd love to see you around. Although the beard guy lost a bet and has to keep his beard shaved.. so much for the Seahawks winning the superbowl hah!

The live shows from PS4 brought back memories of the Yahoo Chat days it was the wild wild west of the internet era, people really was out of control now Sony has brought it to the living room in HD lol
I think facebook streams will be a little more tamed than the things that was going on when this was 1st released because people have their families on their friends list but then again most people don't even care these days lol.

This is still happening via Ustream. But Ustream's ads are very awful and annoying. Every five minutes they have to put in an ad that actually blocks the content being streamed.

Sony has a big chance to take advantage of the live streaming generation with PS4 right now because everyone is doing it now with their phones while PS4 basically have the living room to their self.
PlayRoom took off almost by accident & wasn't really built for the live streaming social network that Live From PlayStation has become & the PlayStation Camera is something you have to buy to become a streamer. if Sony is smart they will make their own live streaming app & network & bundle the PlayStation Camera with the PS4 & make the money back with the ads that play before & in the middle of the live broadcasting.
