Persona 4 Golden |OT| Love is the only gold.

I don't think anyone said S-Links weren't a main part of the game. The game just gets a bad rap from some people because they see what S-Links entail and just cry "DATING SIMMMMMM" instead of attempting to understand at all.

S-Links augment your ability to create personae. They're very, very powerful. So much so that it's worth your effort to plan out your time in order to max your S-Links ASAP. You don't have to, but it's rewarding.

Everything in P4 is connected. None of the gameplay elements can be done without affecting the others. That's why it's dumb to focus on ONE aspect of it. You spend a majority of your time in the dungeons, but you wouldn't be able to be as efficient in the dungeons without your S-Links.

Its greatest strength, its most vulnerable point.

I doubt this is the best place to ask this, but whatevs.

Is Persona 2 supposed to be incredibly easy? I just got to the part after
I beat up the the class president of Cuss High and then he got burnt to a crisp by that badass lion guy wearing a mask. Fighting the class president was a joke. Admittedly it's fun to kick ass in RPGs once in a while, but do any of you think I should up the difficutly? It's set to normal right now.

Hell, I'd play it Easy. Hard only makes battles take longer. Used inate personas 95% of the time. I'm not kidding. Even the scary end boss was methodical.

Victoly!

I'm plowing through Persona 2 right now. The gameplay is a little meh, but I am enjoying the atmosphere and story. I beat the first boss,
I just completed killing the principal
. Sooner or later, I'll finish P2 and move to P3P, and then maybe P4G.

What is this a IGN Resident Evil board Reunion? :p

Glad you see ya Bryan!

Hahaha. Now aren't you REALLY glad you made that video? It has also brought some of the old RE crew back together again.

Glad to see you too! I hope things have been going well for you.

Thanks a lot all, honestly can't believe I won, I thought the girl dressed as Teddie had it in the bag.

Shhhhh! Trying to get blacklisted on GAF?! :p

Your video is also great, in that it brought Bryan out of the shadows.

PSP version made the game pretty easy, easier than it already was, really. You can get through the game with the starter Personas for a bit.

Also Levito you humping the trash can is kinda sexy and a train wreck at the same time. I don't want to stare but I can't stop staring. WHYYYYY.

EDIT: Also, my VGP order has been posted, so I guess everyone else's has also.

Yay?

What the fuck is this shit? Maybe they have a huge backlog and haven't posted every order yet, but I ordered mine in May. May! I'd have thought at this point I'd be one of the first to get it shipped, unless there are lots of orders further back than that...

Do you know what attributes/features/skills get carried over? Only partially played Persona 3 Portable, been waiting for this instead so I don't get burned out.

If it's like P4, you'll carry over your social stats (Expression, Charisma, etc.), your compendium, and certain items (I can't remember if it is anything more than the Xmas gifts). IIRC, you do not carry over money, items, crafting materials, purchased persona, exp/LV, or S.Links/abilities.

You carry over money, but nothing in your inventory. So it's a good idea to just sell everything you're not going to use for the last boss. :p

Haha, yeah that opening is incredibly awkward, and I'm impressed you were able to imitate it at all. Looks like they're all dancing on ice.

It really is. Can't believe they replaced the amazing P4 intro with that turd.

Still, that's awesome. Congrats, Levito!

Yeah, the gameplay is a bit shonky. The story is really good though, and Maya is a terrific character.

I finished it yesterday and it was the easiest MegaTen I've ever played (at least Raidou had a couple bosses that were a pain in the ass). I never died and never even used the Velvet Room, and I don't know if I ruined the game for myself or made it more enjoyable...

I was about to post about it in the anniversary thread, but I'm usually very harsh and I remembered that Persona 2 fans are almost as bad as Chie fans, so... :p

I'm just happy the game has auto battle, and I was warn ahead of time. I can browse on Gaf and talk to people on Tinychat as I plow through the gameplay parts. :p

No, you're right, they made the PSP version extremely easy. But I haven't gotten to the final dungeon yet to see if it's still as bad as the PSX original with step step battle. step battle. step step step battle. step battle. step step battle...

Is the original intro still on there like it is for P3P? Or is it gone?

It's in the video menu, but it never plays as the actual intro.

Yeah, I did the same. Animation skip and auto-battle. Boomaloom.

One thing I love about P2 is how many Persona users you fight. Make for really cool bosses, particularly compared to the non-big bosses in P3 and P4.

We could use more people posting in the P2 OT. :( Maybe people will buy it then!

And yes, IS is a joke. But the story goes a long way.

You'll love Soul Hackers. Rival summoners everywhere.

Why would there be? For the most part it's just Persona 4.

Also, it occurred to me today how silly Yukiko's headband looks. How many girls in their late teens wear headbands?

None, that's how many.

I'm trying to burn through it before P4G arrives ; when I'm done, I'll pop in and say hello.

Also - I asked this question before but didn't see an answer. Any new artbook planned to celebrate the Golden's extra content?

Unlikely. Very little new art. They could have Marie's design, and the new dungeon design, and that's it.

The art books are generally character art (As that's what Soejima specialises in), and there just aren't many new characters.

Thought as much but I was just curious, thank you. I'll probably just grab the P4 one then. I *adore* Soejima's style.

His best one is the illustration book in my opinion, if you don't have that. The P3 and P4 ones are ace though.

The only ones I wouldn't recommend are Venus Mode (Which is Catherine's art book) and the Arena book (Which I don't own, tbf) because it's mostly not Soejima, I don't think.

None, that's how many.

Many women at the buildings I go to as part of my job use them. A bing search yields over 6,000,000 matches. Headbands are common for girls/women of many ages. Maybe not in your geographical area, though.

Persona 2 Innocent Sin ps1 was easy, but had one of, if not the hardest final boss of the series. He is still difficult but toned down in the PSP version. P2 Eternal Punishment is actually a somewhat challenging game, and the PSP port is still hard, with it's difficulty intact, but it's final boss is easy compared to Innocent Sin's
