why dafuq is kindness so hard to get.. i got a couple books and seen the movie.

Also felt bad that i had to choose between best gurls
takemi and Kawakami
to romance. Im going with the latter for the awesome lv10 bonus.

Games good shit, jack of all trades really. GOAT menu's and Battle system tho

are you taking care of the plant in your room? kindness is slow at first, but it's pretty easy to max out by the later phase of the game.

Just wrapped up 11/21. Holllyyy shit. But also
Goddammit Akechi was probably my second or third favorite party member! Even from the start I liked him and his design.

What an amazing game. Easily my favorite out of the last three.

Just finished 5th dungeon. Enjoying on hard difficulty.

Wow and you just got past the low point of the game then!

It's past 4 for me. Possibly 3 too, but that's going to be tough.

So it seems that I'm finally at the final stage of the game:
Explore the deep core of Mementos.

I was smart playing all requests of Mementos during the game. Now I don't need to do all Mementos in a row, haha.

The number of days to finish
is not specified, only "few" is written. Do I have all the time I need? Can I do more social links meanwhile?

Thanks!

Roughly how feasible is it for me to max out my remaining confidants?

I'm at 10/20, with all social stats maxed except for Guts and Proficiency, which are both at 4 (pretty sure Guts will hit 5 *very* soon).

Makoto: 7
Haru: 0 (hasn't unlocked yet)
Yusuke: Max
Sojiro: Max
Ann: Max
Ryuji: Max
Futaba: 7
Chihaya: 7
Iwai: 7
Tae: Max
Kawakami: Max
Ohya: 1
Shinya: 2
Hifumi: 7
Mishima: Max
Yoshida: Max

(I haven't included confidants that advance via story progression, or Justine & Caroline, as they're not time-based)

I really don't care much about Ohya, as her confidant rewards are garbage. I'll do her if I get time, but I'm not too bothered. I really would like to max out the others though. Is that feasible? Or should I abandon a few? I wish I had started on Shinya earlier.

You should be fine with maxing out a fair few of them if you abuse Chihaya's Affinity Reading to high heaven. Haru's link is fairly easy to max (almost always ranks up whenever you see her) but her main thing is that she's gated behind Rank 5 Proficiency. Iwai is also gated behind a Rank 5 Guts gate later on IIRC.

I also highly recommend maxing Shinya ASAP, since his Rank 10 skill lets Joker's gun bypass all gun resistances (with insane crit rate).

Yeah, I get an affinity reading from Chihaya every day. i'm irritated that I only realised in September that you can both get an affinity reading and a social stat reading in one day. I was under the impression you could only get one reading of any kind per day.

At that point, I think you only have a few days left to hang out with people.
Your team will just unanimously go into Mementos in a few days, and it's not a choice you make.

Well, I got to the final part of the game as well...no more Social Links for me.

On the one hand, I was proud that I Maxxed out all the playable party members
only 7 with Futaba though...
, which is something I never did in previous Persona games---I did pretty well with the other Confidants too. Only ones I didn't max were
Shinya, Iwai, Chihaya, and Ohya---didn't care about the last two, but I wanted to max the first two but ran out of time. I never finished the Mementos request for Iwai involving the guy who was gonna kill him and his son (and me) so, uh, oooops.

Now to finish Mementos
it's so dull going through the final two floors I hadn't cleared, should've gone and done them when I had the chance---only 8 more floors I think till I reach the final area. How long does it take to complete?

The
final normal Mementos floors before you get to the Depths?
Shouldn't take long, because by that point you're probably mostly overleveled for the trash mobs there, and can just drive around looking for the exit while ignoring enemies and side branches.

Once you hit the
Depths
, expect another few hours of gameplay before the credits roll. The game's home stretch is surprisingly long.
I went into the final area expecting to be done in 2-3 hours, and it ended up being more like six to eight
.

Basically, don't do what I did and start this area at close to midnight lol.

I finished the game this weekend. I had played about 20 hrs of persona 4 (knowing now that that is basically nothing), so I was mostly going into this as a newcomer to the series. Overall, I came away from it with very positive feelings. Some of the mechanics added in later on kind of felt like a chore, but the game had it's hooks in me and i was playing 6-8hr sessions that were kind of starting to take their toll. So maybe some of the pacing issues I felt were my own fault for trying to rush to the end. But all in all, I really enjoyed the journey and dug where the story went. I'm definitely ready for a break, but I still can't stop thinking about the game.

God the fact that it's instant game over when Joker dies is such a bafflingly bad design decision in an otherwise amazing game. Just lost like an hour and a half of progress in
Shido's

It's very very dumb.

Good idea to invest in a Homunculus from Tae if you've Maxed her social link.

Finished. Feel empty.

Wish I had focused more on confidants. Feels like I missed out on so much content.
I've said it a few times but that actually provides a decent incentive to play through on NG+ - which you would have to anyway for the platinum trophy.

A lot of the links I didn't finish during my first play through ended up being some of my favourites.

Hard difficulty is amazingly well balanced in this game. Keeps you on your toes during the dungeons section and requires some good strategies vs. boss fights. Feels like Nocturne. The dungeons and fights in this game are insanely good and almost top tier MegaTen honestly. Too bad they're a relatively small part of the game.

I missed out on maxing all confidants, as I'd expected, but I would have got the last one I needed (Haru) if there had been just one more day available before the final cut-off point.

At least I got the Passionate Listener trophy today after grinding it out a bit so it's not all bad. Hopefully I'll complete the story within the next week.

I found a few compilations of Mementos conversations on Youtube. It's amazing how many there are.

It's also neat how some of them reveal extra tidbits about each of the characters. I don't think there's any doubt that
Haru has a dark streak to her
from her lines here. I can't decide if that makes me like her less, or more.

Finally started up the game after having it since launch and I'm enjoying it. Slow Burn right now which is to be expected. I have a feeling this game is going to give me that anxiety of making sure I'm doing the right thing in terms of the activities you can do in the down time. Anything specific I should make so I don't miss for some quality of life stuff?

God fucking damn is it stylish though.

The short of it is to just don't worry about getting everything on your first playthrough. While it's possible to max everything in one go, It seems that most people don't do it in a casual playthrough, and trying to go through with a guide doesn't seem fun.

Try to spend time working on both your confidants and your personal stats (like guts) without neglecting either one too much. Later on, some confidant stories will block you from progressing further based on personal stats by telling you things like "you don't have enough guts to do this", so it's important to level up personal stats along with advancing confidant stories.

Press the touchpad when you have free time to get a list of what other people did with those same days. It helps give you an idea of what people are doing. If you want, you can also press the touchpad to cheat when a teacher pops you a question in class.

It may help to have multiple saves going. It's an instant game over if the MC dies in battle, so save often.

Anything specific I should make so I don't miss for some quality of life stuff?
I'm not sure what exactly you're asking but if you're asking how to make the game a bit easier and avoid some problematic situations then you only need to do 2 things.

Minor spoilers not related to story here:

1.
Create a high luck Mandrake
for grinding money in
Mementos

2. Quickly level up
Death
confidant for easy dungeon crawling coz Rank
5 unlocks SP regenerating accessory
and Rank
7 unlocks permanent 50%
discount

For spoiler free part, it's pretty easy to max confidants without a guide but just make sure that you don't waste time on things that don't add to your social stats or confidant leveling.

Some dungeons have long circuitous paths like a maze so in these (and generally in all of them) you should try and save before exploring a new area because Persona 5 goes to Game Over state when MC dies in battle, unless it's a boss or miniboss fight.

Ok, this game is special and amazing enough that it became one of the few games that I started a ng+ save on and am actually trying to 100% it (at least in terms of trophies).
But there is one trophy that I don't think I can figure out how to get easily.
The passionate listener one where you have to listen to 250 of futaba's lines.

Anyone got any good tips for 'farming' these lines? I'm back again in the end game dungeon
the mementos one with the initial grail fight, not the one in the real world after it
.

I really like this game. But not enough to warrant a third playthrough lol.

Did you
use Goro in your party? He was always with me during November and I got a lot of lines out of that. Having each party member getting status ailments, dying, etc. also helps a lot.

Maybe see which mementos blocks have enemies that cast status ailments? You should get lines for everyone being affected by each different ailment.
I'm in the depths now so I can't really check the other floors. But I am finding a lot of enemies that cast fear and brainwash.
Does the game over dialogue futaba says counts? Or did it just reset all my work in that dungeon? *sweats*

Sadly I didn't use him this time after finding out in my first playthrough that he wasn't permanent.
Doubly sad is that it was only after he was no longer available did I start trying to get all the trophies orz

Also which game should I play after this?? I got a PS2 and really like this. I hear P3 is darker? that could be good, but hows the confidant story arcs etc

As soon as you get rank 3 with

I'm at 21. October at 68 hours played, how many hours do you reckon I have left? Roughly ofc :)

I want to wrap it up soon as I'm nearing very busy period. In any case love the game, my second Persona game nr. 3

I'm almost done with Palace 4 and I have just one gripe with the game so far that, if there's a way around it, would greatly improve the experience. I feel like I have very little control over the persona that I got with me. Like my ability to customize the persona is very limited and this, I think, is in part due to the fact that I have to constantly be using the higher levels ones and fusing the lower levels because they level up so, so slowly. I don't even like my current roster of personas but somehow I got stuck with them, and they mostly had physical attacks that made palace 4 kinda annoying. Am I missing something? Do I have to save up money and keep summoning/fusing personas until I get what I want?

Not really sure if I understand. Yes, you should keep fusing Personas and not bother leveling them up unless you're aiming to get a specific ability they learn at a certain level. Once a better Persona becomes available, fuse that. If you got trouble with physical attacks, fuse a Persona with physical resistance.

What I wanna say is that the problem with fusing my personas, I would just end up with a persona team with random skills that I feel I'm sort of forced to roll with. Like before entering palace 3, I took the time to fuse certain personas and have a team that covers most weaknesses and specials personas specalized in team buffing/cc and stuff. I spent a loy of money on summoning and stuff but that's all gone now. By just fusing to get the highest levels before Palace 4, I ended up with 4 personas focused on physical attacks somehow lol (sorry I dont rememeber their names).

It feels like there's zero preperation required right now and I have little control over what my team looks like unless I decide to use the lower level personas in my registry. I know you can use skill cards and stuff but it takes time to duplicate them and I only have the basic spells anyway.

Personally I kept 4ish persona in my party at all times to cover all of the elemental damages and at least one that reflects/blocks physical+gun damage. The rest of the personas I just kept switching out because of levels, even though persona stop learning new skills after a certain level, they're pretty useful.

I personally disagree with the idea that level is more important than everything else for a persona, using lower level personas worked really well for my first playthrough on normal.

P.S. Shiki Ouji is GOAT, I fused him using a treasure persona so I was able to inherit 3 weak hit-all moves in any element. He carried me all the way until the
7th
palace!

What I get from this is that you don't have much control on what personas you get because the most efficient way to get good new ones is to just fuse your stronger personas into whatever is available, right?

Well, there are ways around it. To maximize your choices I suggest getting as many personas to join you per dungeon as possible, and to learn a bit more about how fusion works. Fusion results depend on the arcanas and levels involved. Two specific arcanas will always result in the same third arcana, regardless of persona and level, but the level determines which persona of that third arcana you get, think of each persona of a same arcana as a different "tier" in that arcana, the higher the tier, the higher the level of the resulting persona.

Then there's stuff like treasure demons, which depending on which one you use, fusing it with persona X will result in one of the same arcana but one or two tiers higher or lower than persona X.

So think of personas as mazes with many viable paths to get to the exit. If you see among your possible fusions a persona in particular that you want, but the current combinationd lead into bad skillsets, you can always aim to use good recipients to make one of the same arcana but lower tier, and then turn that one into the desired persona. You can even make literally any persona with a good skillset you want for the desired one and work your way through different arcana combinations until you end with the desired persona, because with the way fusion works you can turn literally any persona into any other specific one you want provided you are patient.

Obviously to make all this as streamlined as possible it's a good idea to always update your compendium too in order to have a registry with mostly personas with relatively useful skillsets or at least to have one useful skill in every registered persona.

I know this is probably ridiculously confusing to you and you'll likely not understand a word, but I tried!

You have any remaining time before your current palace's deadline, then maybe another handful of days after that. That's it.

Probably enough time to max out a few more, but it really depends on when you finished that palace.

Okay, Dancing All Night has higher quality animated scenes than P5, and that really annoys me. I know it must have been less of an undertaking, but..seriously?

Two months and 184 hours later... my first platinum!! :')

Love this game so much. It's a bittersweet feeling achieving this. Now the journey is really over. No more to do... bless this magical game.

This has already been answered to certain degree, but if you've unlocked
Gallows fusion
you can basically put any skill on any persona, except for a small number of exceptions. Also, once you max out
Strength
Arcana, you can basically fuse ANY persona, irrespective of the latter's level.

Combining the above two pieces of information you can create a team of persona that looks and does whatever you want it to, but I guess on your first playthrough, this doesn't become possible before mid to late game depending on how you've played through the main dungeons. Having said this, you should mostly put Physical skills on Persona with high Base
Strength
and Magic skills on Persona with high Base
Magic.
There's also the fact that you shouldn't really try to create specialised persona before you've started Maxing out confidants as it isn't cost-effective. What I did was basically level up
Sun
confidant asap and then used his perks to capture every persona I came across in main dungeons. I'd replace them once I got persona with similar skills in the next dungeon.

Most of the best persona are locked behind Confidant Level 10 and the most ridiculous ones require multiple high level personas (personae?) in their fusion. Once I maxed out
Strength
and a few others Arcanas, I fused their best persona till I reached end-game and fused
Kaguya (dlc), Yoshitsune and Trumpeter
with the best skills using the random inheritance and save scumming on
Gallows fusion
. Of course, you can go with any other personas for your end-game team, but I've found that fusing personas before reaching mid to end game is mostly useless.

Two months and 184 hours later... my first platinum!! :')

I hate that I'm not good enough to get the
Video game
trophy or lucky enough to get the
Navigator lines
trophy. Right now, I'm just replaying the game because I love it, but I've abandoned any hope of ever getting the Platinum. :(

Nice!

Two things I forgot to mention are that two personas of the same arcana will always result in one of that arcana, but lower/higher tier depending on the recipients' levels. That's far more simple than using only treasure demons.

Also that as someone mentioned it, the gallows feature lets you inherit a random skill from the sacrificed persona, which can be quite useful if you don't feel like thinking too much and don't mind some trial and error. It and skill card cloning are good for when you're missing only one particular skill.
