Look at this garbage ad Apple showed during the Super Bowl. WTF does ANY of this have to do with computers? What does the computer do? What does it look like? I mean it's 1984, what IS a computer? Is it like a calculator?

And look at this Reebok commercial. What are they selling? Shoes? Tank tops? Football players? I don't get it. What does this commercial achieve? I'm pretty sure they went out of business after this.

If it's not trying to sell anything, commercials are lost on The Pokemon Company.

I actually think it's trying to nudge people towards this, along with some other things, without being blatant about it.

I prefer blatant though.

Well, that's what some commercials are for. It's not about getting you to go out and buy something right noe. Making the product seem special and emotional to you can be even better. Once a product/brand gets so big there's not much else to do.

When I first heard about the Pokemon Superbowl ad, I was really hoping it would open up with the classic Nidorino vs Gengar battle from Pokemon Red. It could have been a neat way to promote the New 3DS bundles. I thought the actual commercial turned out really well.
