The bit about Loretta Lynch asking Comey to frame the investigation in political terms helped me understand why he put on such a spectacle after the investigation concluded.

No evidence they are linked yet, but it makes so much sense seeing the pieces now.

It bothered me he would display such a lack of professionalism and lack of decorum during that speech. But now, I can at least see a valid reason why he would have been pissed off, and did the opposite of what was asked of him.

It's fucked up and amusing that Loretta Lynch may have cost Clinton the election.

House Majority Whip Steve Scalise remains in critical condition in MedStar Washington Hospital Center and will "require additional operations," the hospital said in a statement Wednesday night.

"Congressman Steve Scalise sustained a single rifle shot to the left hip," a statement from the hospital read. "The bullet travelled across his pelvis, fracturing bones, injuring internal organs, and causing severe bleeding. He was transported in shock to MedStar Washington Hospital Center, a Level I Trauma Center. He underwent immediate surgery, and an additional procedure to stop bleeding. He has received multiple units of blood transfusion."

Eew. Yeah. When someone's "shot in the hip" the instant assumption is the bone or tissue, which is otherwise a perfect spot to get hit, if you just had to take a bullet. Though the shoulder is supposedly the least awful. Forgot we're dealing with more than pistol rounds, too. There is a provision that you can't pardon in cases of impeachment that has never really been tested, so it stands to reason that a sitting president cannot pardon someone in the event they committed an impeachable offense.

Also, as a tangent, I don't think it has even been tested if you can only impeach a sitting political officer. If you go by the wording, you could impeach someone who has already stepped down or before they even step up, and disqualify them from being able to hold office.

Shook hands with the family, gave them condolences and hugged them I assume. I mean to be perfectly fair, Scalise is currently in the ICU so they probably aren't allowing visitors in the actual room while life-or-death surgery is going on.

The Senate on Tuesday narrowly rejected an effort to block part of President Trump’s $110 billion arms sale to Saudi Arabia.

Senators voted 47-53 on advancing the resolution, falling short of the simple majority needed to move forward. GOP Sens. Mike Lee (Utah), Rand Paul (Ky.) Todd Young (Ind.) and Dean Heller (Nev.) voted with most Democrats to advance it.

Democratic Sens. Joe Donnelly (Ind.), Claire McCaskill (Mo.), Bill Nelson (Fla.), Joe Manchin (W.Va.) and Mark Warner (Va.) voted against moving the measure.
