Much higher instructions per clock make up for the lower clock speed. The Cell still has a higher theoretical peak floating point FLOPS rating, but it was very hard getting even close to the theoretical max,while the AMD core is easy to extract performance out of.

PC is Cell. It starts weak but becomes more and more powerful as time progresses by absorbing others until it becomes Perfect Cell. Power level varies depending on the situation.

Mine:
PS3: Heisenberg. Very talented in how own right, but taught a lot of lessons to his students who went further.
PS4: Bohr. Student of Heisenberg that seemed to just do everything right.
Xbox 360: Ernest Lawrence. Limited focus with some important things waaaaay out but very good at that focus. Also super American.
Xbone: JJ Thompson. Could have possibly had a great idea but screwed it up while Bohr got it right instead.
Wii: Einstein. Thought completely outside the box and others ran with what he did like crazy. Ridiculously popular even to people that aren't really into the area.
Wii U: Moseley. A budding scientist with a lot of potential but ultimately an unfortunate casualty of war.
I've seen the original Evangelion multiple times, I kinda like Rebuild more.
