I absolutely love collection packages of retro games. This is a day one purchase for me. I can't wait!
Huh? Why?if it were on Wii U none of these games would be in it.
Fantastic collection but I don't think it's for me. I already have all the Rare games on 360, XBLA, and the original Xbox. And with the Xbox One now being backwards compatible with Xbox 360 games, this collection is kinda redundant. And the collection doesn't really have many games that I'd be interested in that I don't already own. It's still a fantastic collection but I'd figure for a hardcore Rare fan, it's hard to justify buying this when I already own so many of them.
It's the XBLA version so yes.Is this the HD version or just the original game in widescreen with a higher resolution? They redid textures/character models for the HD version, right?
Huh? Why?
Will we get an uncensored version or the s*#% that was in the remake? Will this collection really drop the second-hand price of an N64 cartridge of Conker? Doubtful.
The second-hand price of the Xbox remake though? Much more likely.
Preorder is up on Amazon

Also why would anyone want the Xbox version of Conker? The N64 version is better in everyway, including graphics as the N64 one looks more like a Saturday morning cartoon while the XBox one looks very Dreamworks esque in comparison..
...KI Gold is pretty good!!!KI Gold? Eww.
I am at the Xbox Fan Fest right now and the Rare Replay Collection is here and playable. I realize I'm just a nobody but I can post my ugly mug with my badge for proof is needed.
I just got done going through 15 minutes of the package and asked the MS rep various questions.
The Spectrum games have a rewind feature when you click in the left analog stick. Meant to be a cushion for new all skill levels playing the package.
I got mixed answers regarding various UI changes. Xbox games that would display the black and white butttons get changed to the bumpers. However when I would boot up a 360 game, buttons were the same as a 360. So you'll see the Start button instead of whatever it is on the bone.
They have a milestone system in the game that acts as individual achievements for games in the package. These earn you stamps which are used to unlock video contact among other things in the package.
Games from the 360 on don't have unique milestones tied to them. Instead they are based on your Gamers core since those games have existing achievement systems.
Playing the older spectrum and NES games has a vanity feature that applies an old CRTish look over the game. I tried it briefly but wasn't a fan. Kept it at the native image and it looked nice and crisp.
The games also have another feature that I'm blanking on the name of, but it's bite sized challenges with leader board support. The one I tried my hand at had me assemble a rocket and fuel it under 60 seconds for the original Jetpac.
He said this collection was worked on internally by Rare themselves.
He mentioned they reached out to the Stamper brothers for video content about Project Dream and they've had an ongoing dialogue with them. According to the rep they were excited to collab.
I'm typing this all on mobile so I apologize for bad Grammer and spelling among other things. I typed this all stream of conciousness. Feel free to ask me questions. I may know the answer.

Thanks for the info. How do the N64 games like JFG hold up?

Assuming that the collection is done well, this MIGHT be among the greatest video game collections ever made. I'm legitimately wanting to own an Xbox One now.
Well, if thats true, now this thread makes sense.

Sounds great. But goddammit why no Goldeneye? Is it a Nintendo thing?

I'm finally going to get to play Blast Corps. I heard so many good things about the game, but it was always rented out when I was a kid. I hope I like it!
Huh? Why?
Not a Nintendo thing, probably an Activision thing. Don't they have the rights to every Bond video game?
