See that tree?
You can horseclimb it.

No tactical advantage whatsoever.

Anyway, they should commit to PC simultaneous release. Everyone else does it and Rockstar are billionaires. Did GTA V do that badly? I don't get it.

What? Lol. They do this so that people double dip later on.

Battlefront 2
FarCry 5
AC
NFS
The Crew 2
Crackdown
Sea of Thieves
State of Decay 2
CoD
Destiny 2
Spidey????
God of War????

And I can go on.

Not super comforting when literally 4 games from that list are actually confirmed for this year.

E3 (and the lead-up) needs to come through with some big release dates for this Fall. Otherwise, it's gonna suck for single player gamers.

There will be one Rockstar open-world game this generation.

Fine by me though, since I'm burnt out on the standard R* open-world formula. I hope they're taking the time to overhaul.

"Spring 2018" will become "fall 2018" by October.

Then fall will end up late October with online modes being added in February 2019. Then in 2020 the deluxe PS5 version will come out.

Rockstar's first game built for the ground up on current-gen hardware is releasing four and a half years into the console cycle. That's...pretty crazy. Hope it's worth the wait.

San Andreas, GTA4, Red Dead 1 and GTA5 all won Game of the Year.

Maybe they want to keep that track record :p, because of zelda.

I mean Mario

They won GOTYs but most of the times they weren't the most awarded. San Andreas got 3rd place behind HL2 and Halo 2 and GTA4 got 2nd place to Fallout 3. RDR is the only one who actually got overall GOTY for Rockstar but even then it was very close one against Mass Effect 2. GTA V took 2nd place behind TLOU.

RDR2 could have still had a shoot this year against Zelda.

Anyways I'm predicting a May release next year to coincide with RDR's may release. If it get's delayed until Fall 2018 then I'll be slightly shocked.

Hey guys remember when they delayed GTA 5 in 2013 and we were all sad? Yeah... it's 2017 now.

Point is... time flies.

Shit, I'm glad this was delayed.

Now I have the chance to hopefully catch up to this year of gaming bliss. Unopened copies of Horizon, Zelda, Ni-Oh, and Nier sit on my shelf- I'm just getting through P5 now.

Gotta have some time to digest all this greatness.

Chances of Detroit or Days Gone being moved up?

I think Days Gone was looking at May-June 2018 to begin with. I think it was Detroit that seemed more 50/50 on if it could make 2017 or not, but with this in mind I'm sure things are less stressful for it. An October release doesn't sound too farfetched.

Easiest "called it" of my life, lol.

Some folks still wanted to believe though, for some reason.

R* released a 30 second video last year which showed zero gameplay, a name, and a release date. all the hype was the release date.
and every Gamestop has had giant "pre-order RDR 2. coming Fall 2017" posters up since.

I believed. developers really need to stop pulling this shit.

Because manipulating with common psychology works.

Take Witcher 3, that doesn't look anything like the promotion material, but still was praised by everyone for its graphic.

People forget. Advertising material for game is now advertising material for, like, food. It doesn't look anything like what you can actually buy, but the only purpose it has it to make you DESIRE it.

See for example the latest gameplay trailer for the Middle Earth game, that looks like nothing particularly good, and so "honest", but because it doesn't look that great it gets piled on by everyone complaining about the graphic.

You need that hype, and to build that hype you have to play on the dishonesty of showing something that isn't real.

This was brought to you by your Neogaf specialist with a PhD is psychological studies.
or my little brother who is 10-years old for his first essay in social sciences class ?

Easiest "called it" of my life, lol.

Some folks just use their brains and don't repeat the same post like sheeps : "it'll get delayed because I say so!" (then say "called it lol" like sheeps once again)
