The Golden Age of Sony shall soon arise.
I guess it safe to say we will have a bunch of reports of this occurring sometime next month. Microsoft you done did it.
If MS has another RROD on their hands they deserve everything they've got coming. Build quality issues in a $500 device is completely unjustifiable.
Small sample or not, that's still a 100% white splooge rate. It's not looking good for MS. Remember that Nielson/Gallup etc use small sample sizes too.Because 3 cases in what at least 2 million sales? That's well within tolerable fault limits. I mean we might see a few more here and there, but if your implication is that this is suddenly going to snowball in number then you're flat out speculating based on incredibly small sample numbers.
'If...then...'How many devices are affected?

There's apparently a few posts about smoking Xbones too a few pages back.Oh this was a genuine question rather than an offending one - I don't know if the number in the thread title is still accurate. Sorry for the confusion.

A couple of users on the Xbox Support forums are complaining about quite an unusual issue with their Xbox Ones. Their Xbox Ones were allegedly leaking a liquid that was leaving a milky-white residue, from inside the console itself.
From all accounts, it seems that it could be the thermal compound leaking out (a heat-conducting compound that sits between a chip and its heatsink, to help channel generated heat from a graphics/CPU chip to the heatsink to dissipate), though the compound itself would have to have been applied quite liberally to leak out. Seeing as the Xbox Ones huge heatsink-fan assembly sits at the full right-front of the console, near the vents, it wouldnt be much of a stretch for the compound to leak out if too much was accidentally applied during assembly.
It looks like decolorization of the plastic because it had a spray air can to close to it.
So was the op banned because of this thread or what?
I fucking hate that meme but holy shit that Lego Joel is amazing. Where's it come from?
I was wondering the same thing.

I didnt just take a picture as soon as I saw the residue I waited two weeks then I came here to the forums, to try and find out if I was the only one with the problem, and then today, I posted the pictures and contacted microsoft, like the person up there suggested. I take relative good care for my xbox, Ive only place my controller or the mic on top of the xbox, I havent spilled anything on it and the oily sticky ness you see in the pictures is me trying to wipe it up earlier in the week, hoping the problem went away. Ive read a few off the comment on the sites saying Im a fake or a troll cause they dont see any xbox one games on my recent games, Both AC4 and BF4 are xbox one games, the only ones I have. I can assure you this is not fake, I dont have an actual camera, but Ill see what I can do about getting a better picture.
2 out of a few million? [sethmeyers]REALLY!!![/sethmeyers]
Dead serious. It's gone now because I cleaned it up as I was traveling but my Xbone was looking like the pics in the OP at one point a couple of weeks back. I just thought my sister spilled something on it as my Xbone is on the floor and I didn't even know there was a liquid inside the Xbone to cause this in the first place.
You are correct. Every time a liquid gets hot enough to turn into a gas the laws of gravity say it goes down. If gas were to ever travel against gravity as bullshit laws of physics suggest (scientists actually mean unicorn dust) it is certainly due to the paranormal or supernatural. No super heated gas ever travels up, only down.Ha Ha Ha!!!! NO This CANNOT Happen, plus the law of simple physics says it would be leaking UP and through the Fan??!!??
I mean WITF????
No Way, No How!
I love how this is a big deal.
I tried to peruse the thread for information on what the substance is, but I can't find anything. So wtf is it?

Huh? For starters this should never happen, of course its a big deal.
No its not a big deal when you are talking about mass productions in the millions. It happens to every electronics device. We are not talking about RROD type of problem here. Shit I bought a brand NEW asus laptop last week that would power on but wouldn't show any picture. I just went back to the store and got an exchange.
Search "I'm not a rapper" on Youtube. What the hell is this from? It's been driving me fucking crazy trying figure it out.
