Infos:

  • They wanted the Game Gear Micro to be on the right scale when placed next to the Mega Drive Mini, in the same way that Nintendo did with the NES and the Super NES Mini.
  • The console weighs approximately 40g without the batteries, 60g with the two batteries.
  • When the battery is about to run out, the console will give a signal. The player then has an interest in saving his game.
  • Like what the Mega Drive Mini offers, each game will have four save slots
  • The console menu will benefit from original music. Unlike that of the Mega Drive Mini, it was not composed by Yûzô Koshiro but by the sound team of M2.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
WTF

That looks smaller than a single C sized battery these used to run on.

To mark the company’s 60th anniversary, Sega has decided to take one of its most notorious systems and re-release it in micro form. It’s not the Dreamcast or the Saturn, though; rather, it’s the handheld Game Gear.

More details, like what it’ll cost and which games are going to be included (you can at least see the excellent Game Gear version of Sonic on the promo pic above), will be released later today, and we’ll update this post when they become available.

I think it could be a new type of cereal, imagine 20 of them in a bowl, starting to make more sense now?

I think this is a fun teaser TBH. Maybe a message that they are back in the console space. Of course this isn’t real. That thing is comical.

That's really cool ahah!

Gameboy Micro is so neat, I love the Idea that Sega also want to do this quirky stuff. Why not! Can't get more pocketable than this huh?! :)
