better late than never I suppose. A couple of upgrades from last year.

Living room.

Panoramas.

Bonus Lighting:

Eventually I will hang the posters I bought a couple of months ago..

The Amazon Echo system controls all of the lighting/media in all of the rooms (living/bed/kitchen/bathroom).

Despite all the gizmos, my two favorite devices are probably the Steamlink and my waterproof speakers in the shower.

Your place looks like a showroom at Ikea and I love it. Props to committing to the clean, minimalist aesthetic.

Not really my gaming room any more. No more pc or arcade machine. Did keep the projector though. Turned my old game room into a gym and this is just our front room now.

i moved downstairs in the same house. now i live with my better half together. Still a bit of a couchpotatoe cave. tomorrow we are joined by a two year old cat.

got a steamlink for the new sony tv set. sadly the connection over powerline adapter is not really great. playing Forza Horizon 3 over it and the picture is tearing. any tipps maybe for this problem? or will it not change, given the race genre. i think slower games should be fine

Looks like the Wallmount-It from Pro-Ject. Also considering something like that for my situation since I'm gonna place my turntable on top of that cheap Ikea lack sidetable. Either wallmount or the Ground It, a heavy platter that has the same function.

Not much have happened since last year. And to start it all of, Yes, it's mostly IKEA stuff but I really dig it. It's inexpensive, minimalistic and functional. I love it!

The couch, kitchen and dining area still look the same.

I sold of my Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Wii U as they were just collecting dust. Still the same old 55" LG LED, but I'm looking for a 65" UHD in the near future. I built a shelf so that my Xbox 360 and PlayStation could lie down. Also, still the same old HTPC (i3 3.2ghz/GT630) and I'm planning to get a Xbox One this fall.

The big black box on the left has various controllers while the one on the right is full of wires. Grey box under the TV has my Elgato Gamecapture equipment while the one on the shelving unit holds my Razer headphones. The tiny black box on the shelving unit is my travel box. It holds a Raspberry Pi 2+ with Retropie, PSU, HDMI cable, Bluetooth dongle and 2x 8bitDo SFC30 controllers.
On display is all my physical PlayStation 4 games and a handful of my 100+ Xbox 360 games. Favorites, Games I want to play or games that I currently have in rotation.
And lastly I dug out my newly acquired Hori Real Arcade Pro 4 Kai for PlayStation 4. Also use this stick on PC and I'm very happy with the components. I also have my trusty Hori Real Arcade Pro VX-SA for Xbox 360 but that sits in my closet.

Now to the entirely new part. For over a year my bedroom has been a mess. I couldn't figure out how I wanted it to look but finally settled on it and finished it just last week. I did the minimalistic R2-D2 painting myself. I got my old GameBoy DMG-001 modded with a light, green power LED and new black buttons. I got a buddy of mine to 3D print a stand for it and then I have my GameBoy games in a bowl next to it. Great for bedtime gaming.

Above I have some pictures. The Wonderboy flyer was a birthday present from a friend of mine and to the left of that is my ICON Trading Card Award as I'm the Twin Galaxies record holder for Metal Slug Supervehicle-001 on Neo Geo MVS and was featured on a Walter Day trading card. To the right is my official Guinness certificate for the same performance.

You'd expect a Danish guy to go full on Jysk on his place, that Ikea though. Got a lot of the same stuff at my place too, totally agree on the cheap/functionality Ikea way of living haha

I'm poor so I'm still rocking the Xbox360. And I can only play older games with my Rx480 on my AOC 34" monitor cause my CPU is a POS.

Projector owners, what do you guys/gals recommend for 15x15 feet square area (with next to no ambient light)? I would like to transform an area in my home into a home theater/projector gaming set up.

Keep up the posts people! Glad this thread is still alive, just went through loads of pages to catch up to today, some absolutely fantastic setups. I'm just about to buy my first place so keeping a few things in mind and trying to take ideas where I can :). I'd definitely try stick to a clean and minimilaistic look though. I have a 55inch LG E6 I picked up few months ago which will be the main gaming TV, so first job will be finding a nice new stand.

Nothing special but does the job, and yes my cables are a mess. I just got the speakers, not bad at all for £22, although I can't really test them now as Amazon delivered them at 9pm and I don't want to be that guy.

Nice speakers & Tracer.

Not much have happened since last year. And to start it all of, Yes, it's mostly IKEA stuff but I really dig it. It's inexpensive, minimalistic and functional. I love it!

The couch, kitchen and dining area still look the same.

Great looking place!

Awesome set up and that Guinness World Record is extremely impressive.

castaction said:
sp3ctr3 i love your setup, thats cool that your in the guiness records

Thanks. It was a hard struggle to get that Guinness certificate. I submitted the record to Twin Galaxies and that's where Guinness gets their data for their book. So my score is not on the actual Guinness site so it was a LOT of mails back and forth, with pictures as proof, references to the book and link to the Twin Galaxies website. I think it took well over a year.

That ladder bookcase/shelf thing is actually from Jysk. I like the look of their products but I think they make things WAY too complicated to assemble. So many screws and tiny parts and on top of that it's super heavy.

Great looking place!

Thanks. I just got a great idea for some functional artwork. Something that will look great on the wall but can be taken down when I need to do some PC mouse/keyboard gaming (FPS) on the comfy couch.

Maybe I will have that ready for 2018?

These setups make me want to crawl into a whole and never come out!

Setups look like something you'd see on HGTV lmao!

better late than never I suppose. A couple of upgrades from last year.

My room.

That's art! Really nice. And you have a teeny bedroom like me. So, for now my gaming setup is nothing but the essentials but the view more than makes up for it. Got the gaming PC on the right, a server/VM box all the way on the left.

Occasionally games and outdoor conditions will match time of day and/or weather conditions and it adds a lot of ambiance to the game and is fucking cool.

Still, can't wait to buy a house so I can really put something together.

Made a few changes/additions since my last post. I like a very minimal setup, the less the better. Went for a grey couch/rug/drapes theme; white IKEA furniture with black legs/shelving. I think it looks nice, easy on the eyes, practical, and modern.

Wife and I bought our first home, and I am lucky enough to have one of the bedrooms as my own space.

Always wanted to take part in one of these. This is my current apartment setup. I left games and the Xbox One in my parents house for now for space reasons.

I've been meaning to post my somewhat modest set up for a while, maybe I'll take some pictures later on

Love this thread though, and some of you guys are doing very well for yourselves, so congrats on that

I really need a better job

What monitor arms are you using? Setup looks really nice.

This one.

I was originally just going to get the 1 for my ultrawide. But I liked it so much I got a 2nd one.

I do kinda wish I just had a single monitor arm that could hold a 34" ultrawide AND a 27" as it would look a little cleaner. But this is fine, and relatively inexpensive.

And now a daytime picture to show the lack of cables :)

I've since upgraded to the Asus PG348Q, but it looks pretty much the same as the Dell.

why do people put the pc on the desk? I don't get it. It's like having this big wall in the middle of your work-space.

Usually Aesthetics with glass windows. That's why I have mine but I want to put it on top of a separate drawer unit.

I never liked having my tower on ground level, collects way to much dust that way, I feel it's safer on the desk.

Plus... if you have little ones running around the house you quickly learn to put anything important out of their reach :p

Several reasons for me.

This is the first PC I've built that's even remotely aesthetically pleasing. I took a lot of time to get the cables nice and clean. Put in a little lighting (but not too crazy). So I like looking at it.

Easier access to some USB ports.

My floor is carpet.

And I have more than enough desk space.

I've always had my tower sitting on my carpeted floor. Never thought twice about it.. until this thread, lol.
