They're apparently adding most of the songpacks available on the Singstore to the PS Store today. Not sure why they'd do this but I wish they'd just release a downloadable version of Singstar instead of having to put a disc in.

It's a nice step. Maybe they'd eventually move everything to the PS Store, which is way faster than downloading from SingStore.

I wish they'd make all the songs on SingStar Guitar available too. They've already put lots of them on the SingStore but there are still a few song that I'd really love to have.

The thing is you still need to go into Singstar to download the songs. Which means you're still downloading from the Singstore.

So with LMFAO on DanceStar I can expect to see even more fail videos of 'shuffling' on the web. Lovely. :p

At least you can sing to the songs on DanceStar... hopefully it'll be backwards compatible with SingStar DLC.

So sad seems like they are abandoning Singstar Dance :( With Dance star coming out.

I hope it's backwards compatible. Would be awesome if they did that.

But actually some good songs. More new songs!!!!

Why would you want to?

I thought there were some Die Toten Hosen songs in the German SingStore, but it seems the only way to get those songs is to import the PS2 release Singstar: Die Toten Hosen from Germany.

Still no track list though. I guess they still haven't finalized it yet.

At the end it doesn't matter to me. I don't want to swap disk so I'll only wait for the songs to be available online. Unless the disc has 10+ songs that I want, then I'll consider.

Growing up on 80s music, that's a great disc. Haven't touched Singstar in forever, but there's at least 8 songs I care about on there.

I guess i'm one of the very few that owns more than 900 songs.

Total: 927 on 2 discs plus SingStore

I'm happy about the recent 80s songs being available as I wasn't buying many recently.

Is there an email service for contacting SingStar support in order to unbind downloaded tracks from another console.

Since PSN does not officially support my country, I am moonlighting as a resident of the UK. When my old PS3 died, it took with it quite a few quality tracks from my SingStore collection and I cannot download them onto my new machine, instead I keep getting the error that they are affiliated with another console. I cannot deactivate my old console, because it's broken and I cannot turn it on any more.

Is there any hope for me or should I simply let these tracks go?

They won't reset your songs unless you call the UK support number. The folks I talked to in the UK were really nice though. Much nicer than the ones in the US. Use Skype to call them if you can.

More Train is always welcome. Also surprised at SWV. We're getting closer to Michael Jackson stuff since that song used the music from Human Nature.

Would have much rathered Calling All Angels, but it will do.
I was actually thinking that would be next after Drops of Jupiter but I'm glad they at least got a fairly current song instead. That's always reason to celebrate.

Sony Computer Entertainment is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Programmer to join its team for SingStar. The job will involve architectural reform of the User Interface back end. The ideal candidate should have experience in user interface development and preferably tools development. They should be extremely well organised with the flexibility to work within a rapidly changing development environment. This position offers a great opportunity within a high profile SCE project.

I always thought SingStar's UI was fairly sleek. In a way it was very Metro UI looking except for the carousel.

I was hoping they were hiring people to discuss getting more content.

Hmm... I don't remember Puretone - "Addicted To Base" coming out on any disc...

Perhaps it was originally going to be on Dancestar Party?

Further detective work: The above image has a modified date of 2009-03-25. I have found three other images with that modified date:

The 2009 modified date is obviously not accurate -- Barbra Steisand was released in 2010. Interestingly, two of those songs (the ones from Ducksauce and Tavares) are both listed on the Dancestar Party tracklist, while the remaining two are not.

*Note: Although Dancestar Party is not going to be cross-compatible with SingStar, they are using the sharing the same catalouging system and hence album art and preview clips from all Dancestar songs are available through the backend of the singstar.com website

i don't think i've downloaded a single song all year.

don't japanese people LOVE karaoke? why don't they release singstar with jap songs in japan? it would sell... instead of wasting time with singstar guitar and singstar dance....

seriously.... plus mandarin, cantonese and korean songs.

I would love an asian singstar, but I think KTV is too big in asia and they don't want to mess with that. No clue why :(

Crap update, and so sad that they dropped the SS Dance support for good. I actually bought about 15 dance routines.

Anyone gonna buy Everybody Dance / Dancestar?

Japanese record labels have been slow with technology. Plus they already get away with charging thousands of yen for music video collections.

Well, terrible update. But enough about Singstar. So, about the Dancestar Party demo. I love it. No, really. Incredible easy to play, the song selection is alright and the interface is godly.

I want to buy it, but Just Dance 3 seems to have a better tracklist. What is the better game?
