Skullgirls DLC Character vote | The Campaign united us, The Voting will destroy us

Konami fucked up again and sent the wrong version if for patch certification, meaning the patch is delayed another week

Guess that means the colours have been delayed to 14th May at the very earliest, then.

If Konami keeps this up this patch is NEVER coming out on 360 :(

Naaa, eventually, Mike Z would just send 3 versions of the same patch, so even if they send a later one, it'll be one of the right ones!

I find it pretty annoying too (360 is the system I play my fighters on, and I'd like to seriously get back into SG, relearning with the RIGHT method, instead of on old, outdated systems), but it'll come in time.

My biggest hope would be that someone (Konami or Microsoft) would try and do something nice for Lab Zero due to the long wait and mistakes; Free advertising, sales that they foot the build on, item donations to tournaments, sponsorship for some reason; SOMETHING.

I was so tired last night I fell asleep before the changes were shown off. What did I miss?

From my quick look over the stream (it's archived here!), No other character changes were shown, except "Cerebella lost her thing!, Y'know, that thing!" from the previous week.

Squigly has all her normals hitting save for Jumping Hard attacks. Dashes are colored in, save for a dust frame on backdash.

Oh yeah, and she has a dive-kick, Leviathan Jet-Powered!

She has her qcf stances in the game. One's a whip stance, once a dragon flame stance.
- Stances can be cancelled by releasing the button before she takes the full stance.
- Stances go from LVL 1 to LVL 2 by holding the button until the animation changes.
- Stances will have specials out of them, which are not fully implimented yet.

Film-reel-style super art appears behind the characters when doing supers now.
The screen goes kinda Black-and-White when doing snapbacks now.

River King Casino now had some music... which was apparently just music from Parasoul's story mode or something. Nothing just for it, yet.

I think that was everything I've seen mentioned!

Wow, supers look freaking awesome now. They did such a nice job with that.

I'm surprised there's any room for such a thing, with all the mention of how the characters themselves take up so much memory in the first place.

Great to see such additions that add personality to the game's style.

Oh man, beam assist, totally forgot about this.

Seriously. I couldn't understand the people who didn't like the filmstrip portraits during the supers. It makes everything feel occupied (in a good way) versus the kinda emptiness that was there when triggering a super before. If anything an option for a toggle was the best suggestion to please everyone, but I love me some portraits as they are. It would be totally rad if they found a way to make the film strips around the frame move though. Dynamics. <3

They're worried it'll become Super Robot Wars style Jiggle-fest montages, eventually, I guess? (I personally like these crazy cut-ins, but anyway...)

Supers are a great time to give off that "all eyes on ME!" type feeling, so I agree the occupation is much appreciated. And it really helps give more credence to the "old movie" motif that the game has, which I've always felt feels down-played during actual gameplay.

I'd love to see the strips move too, haha, but didn't wanna say it ATM due to already wondering "how do these things fit with these HD characters?!". While going with wishful thinking, I'd love it if each super had it's own image, too, but again, probably taking it too far...

No Stanley makes me so upset... :(

A lot of us lost what we wanted =(

But hey, there's still Eliza! Give her a vote!

That's pretty cool, really like it. Hope the art used is just temporary, though.

Is the character profiles during supers a direct reference to the Capcom Jojo fighter?

The VS series also used that.

Man, it's kinda weird how often Sagan is left to the wayside when people talk or draw about Annie. It's a whole other dimension to Annie's character and playstyle, and this exactly demonstrates how he could involve himself in her gameplay. This piece is really nice, though - nice posing, neat stylization, and nice colour contrast. I really like art that can effectively portray Annie as dangerous without necessarily compromising the core dichotomy of her character.

And on that note, Alex stated last night that Sagan wasn't so much a 'stand' for Annie as he is something that more or less exists in the background and jumps in when Annie needs help - someone suggested that he fly in to help using his ears as a helicopter rotor, and he said he'd definitely bring it up in the move concept process if Annie wins.

Unrelatedly, have some more Black Dahlia art!

I'm honestly sure Dahlia didn't have nearly as much visible support now as she did at the beginning of the vote. I'll eat my hat if Dahlia isn't a major contender next round.

Just realized something re: the "which cast member is a crossdresser" speculation a few pages back:

Someone already pointed out the potential context of what "surprise" might mean but I noticed something else.

Annie's profile HAS NO PRONOUNS. It is the only profile on the 3rd character page this fact applies to.

I don't think it's that. The surprise is that well she's the real deal. It's a folktale remember so she should be long dead by now but she's still alive because of a wish or something. That's why she's so good at it because she plays herself.

I was just about to post this. I'd prefer the characters to be in a "hey, I'm just about to do my super move!" pose/expression, rather than their generic character art.

Like how in MvC2 you had Tron Bonne's character art, then the art of her shouting which is what's used on the loading screen and on supers.

I think the super cards taking up 1/2 the screen is kind of jarring too. Curious if shorter cards would look better, not really sure :\.

Watching the archive now . . . they have a really annoying habit of interrupting matches to show off things that aren't the matches.
Sometimes those things they show off can be pretty huge. Don't know how long you've been watching, but Salty Cupcakes is about more than just the matches. That is part of why it blew up from one hundred viewers to nearly a thousand.

We get more exclusive never before seen stuff from Salty than from any other twitch channel out there as is. Thanks to Mike and co literally piecing together new characters and features we see week in and week out. Count yourself lucky Erin, Kimlinh and the other VAs weren't out there yesterday. Then we'd all be basking under their awesome off topic shine.

I'm surprised that they were implemented so quickly, given that they seemed like they were being worked on the day of Salty Cupcakes.

Finally saw the Super Cards. Holy shit they look fucking dope as hell

They may change from the cards to more of a Jojo's-esque face/full body pose or something - we're still figuring it out.

The cards were a compromise since Alex is too swamped to draw new character art for all of the characters, but he has some stuff in the works that one of our other contractors may be able to finish up.

Please keep the JoJo's style, it's fantastic.

The hell did that crossdresser speculation even come from
It's from before the game even came out, it's been said that one character in the series is a cross dresser but they are not saying who, hell they didn't even specify it as a male or female character actually. Have fun with that bit ;)
