People are complaining,.. but the fact is that thing is going to be sold out in two minutes is Japan and is going to be a trend accessorie over there.
2017's GBA Headphone Adapter
Or just buy an extension cable.
Easy.

Before anyone gets too angry about this:
Nintendo is a family oriented company, and the last time they allowed a direct communication tool in their systems -Swapnote- paedophiles started sending dick to kids.
They want to not be responsible for any bad behavior from the users, and since they don't want for their service to turn into an endless screaming, swearing, racist galore, they count on YOUR smartphone.
Ultimately it's customers fault for being assholes online, don't blame Nintendo
The actual mixer? I don't think so tim.
Now this would make an interesting read. Have anywhere I can go to read this at? I'm genuinely curious.
Don't all iPhone 7 and up come with an adapter for an audio jack anyways?
I see like one or two dudes doing this and everyone quotes the same dude.
Yeah judging from interviews I've read they actively try to reinvent the wheel instead of just using what already exists. They seem to see more value in trying to rederive things from first principles than building on the current state of the industry. It's good for creativity sure, but an important part of the creative process is knowing when to say "No this isn't good, let's just do the thing that works".It is indeed incompetence. Read about how they built the online platform in Wii U and how they were given examples of PS3 and XBOX360 functionalities by third party developers. Their answer was "please stop giving these examples because we never tried their systems".
They just do things without researching and end up with solutions of 20 years ago.
Well that's... difficult to defend.
Is a Splatton accessorie... just watch that thing becoming a trend. The headphones sure. I actually quite like how the headphones look.
The actual mixer? I don't think so tim.
So i am pretty much stuffed since latest iphones no longer have a headphone jack
Unless you want to have your phone on you...or you want to use wireless headsets like you easily can in every other gaming platform

And I'm sure that there will be another solution for playing at home. Why can people not wait until Nintendo shows their own solution for at home and on the way online chat and gaming?
Seriously, what is Nintendo thinking?
Not necessarily. It is still a pipedream for sure, for all Nintendo has said about it so far, and probably for the resources left on Switch to create a background-running native voicechat app, but keep in mind that this is just a 3rd party audiomixer for the current situation:So the whole dream of "voice chat possibly still integrated in Switch" is dead then?
I really don't understand why people are unable to recognise that this is a solution for on the road!
1. You need a Smartphone for the Hotspot. With this you're able to play online on the go.
2. This is a cable solution because not every Headset has Bluetooth.

The funny thing is that this still will be the best Voice Chat setup a Nintendo console ever had...lol. Then again most people use Discord Server nowadays.

Supporting that was your first mistake.
I have a shit £20 smart phone at the moment. I don't see the point in anything better as I literally only use it for calls and texts. I use my laptop and tablet for browsing.
The phone is terrible for apps. It's going to be a nightmare using it for this. I love my Switch, but this might be a deal breaker for me in the long run.
Bleh, I guess I could just buy a second hand smart phone for it and it wouldn't be too costly, but this entire thing is rubbing me the wrong way.
