Bad news about Zen and Scorpio. That would be a huge bottleneck if it's still using jaguar.
What the 65" run at Costco. They still giving few hundred off on it?
Ah. That Reddit post, taking that with a grain of salt personally. An email to a random user is a far cry from official word.
That's not true. The report originally came from www.computerbase.de, who are a large and respectable tech site from Germany. Here's the operative sentence:This is wrong and the article which stated this was click-bait. It's actually quite the opposite.
ComputerBase said:Zen-Kerne und neue Grafik als Semi-Custom-Lösung soll es nicht vor 2018 geben, deutete AMDs Chefin Lisa Su in kleiner Runde an.
I believe this is where your assumptions have gone wrong. This AMD slideAMD have stated on their 12 month roadmap that they're actually ramping up for new semi-custom business, which has to be the Scorpio since AMD's semi-custom portfolio only consists of Sony and MS.
The deal we got at $1780 ran through September 10th. They're currently going for $1880.
http://www.4gamer.net/games/990/G999024/20161013003/Do we know if PS4Pro will have sata 2 or 3?
I guess it doesn't matter, I plan on buying a 1tb ssd for it anyways.
I'll be using it with a 1080p plasma. I fully expect benefits including higher frame rates, higher fidelity graphical effects, and games running native 1080p. Many devs have already disclosed this is how they will approach 1080p, and as time progresses I anticipate this will be the norm.Is it worth getting this if you're a 1080p tv owner?
Not jumping on board the 4k train until i can get a 40 to 50 inch 4k hdr 10 tv for under £800.
I feel its a bit of a compromise and 4k will only be really relevant next generation.

PS4Pro is saved. Balances out lack of UHD Blu-ray.
SSDs will finally be able to stretch their legs.

Has anyone heard if GTA 5 or Skyrim Remastered are going to benefit?
When was the cutoff date for PS4 games requiring a PS4Pro
Mode?

They say SIE people contacted them today for the request of editing article to state PS4 Pro does support SATA Rev.3 (original said it only supports up to Rev.2), so I believe that's legit.
You think Gamestop will do their special trade in for the Pro? That $200 I'm ready for. Got 2 PS4's ready to turn in.
Only way I'll pick up a Pro, otherwise I'm content with the original PS4.

Same, the PS4 trade in value was 200$ a few months ago but I only have 1 PS4 and preordered BF1 and want to have something to play it on. Right now they are offering 125$ for a used OG PS4 which is insane lol.Only way I'll pick up a Pro, otherwise I'm content with the original PS4.
That's awesome, and completely unexpected. By that, I mean it seemed like a no-brainer that the Pro would have SATA 3, given that's it's a relatively cheap upgrade and loading bottlenecks plague the current consoles... so I assumed it wouldn't have it. I'm still a bit bitter about no UHD Blu-ray.
You guys can get a cool $125 for your PS4 and Xbox One. Not sure if the promotion is still going on, but that's what the deal was when the pro was announced. Yes, it's bullshit.
SATA3 is a huge win if true.
Now we just need an affordable 2TB SSD.
Has anyone heard anything about how quiet it will be? I know the slim is relatively quiet compared to the og PS4. I really hope that is the case for the Pro cause my PS4 sounds ridiculous when playing demanding games for a while.

Seagate has an affordable 2TB SSHD out now.
I'm guessing no one knows the answer to this, but is there any chance ps4 pro won't be compatible with some ps4 games? Thinking about giving my ps4 to a friend once I get the pro but it'd would need to be 100% perfect compatibility with my ps4 library.
Also it's still going to be region free, right?
And how easy will it be to move an account over and save games? I'm in the middle of like 3 ps4 50 hour+ jrpgs right now including P5 and I'm probably not gonna be done when Pro comes out, so I'll need to move my saves & dlc over without losing anything in the process.

Yes to region free. You can upload the saves to the online storage or to a usb stick. Not sure about DLC, but I think it's tied to your PSN account, so you should be able to re-download it at anytime.Q: Will all PS4 games be compatible with PS4 Pro?
Yes, all existing PS4 games are fully compatible with PS4 Pro. Developers are able to add PS4 Pro enhancements to previously released PS4 games via a downloadable update if they choose to.
You can transfer all your games, save data, captures and even internet browser bookmarks using the new ethernet cable data transfer method that came with the 4.0 firmware update.I did it recently when i bought a cuh-1216a model ps4.It only took about 45mins to transfer everything. And how easy will it be to move an account over and save games? Don't know if this is the right thread but 2K just announced that NBA 2K17 will be native 4K 60fps with HDR support on the Pro.

Edit: Just found the software thread
I want to know about SATA 3.0. Does that mean the HDD integrated into the console itself is SATA 3.0 or it just supports it and you have to get an extra one and change it?
It does support it. A normal 2.5" HDD is not fast enough to use the possible limitation of 3.0. You will need an SSD to do that.
