Favorite Playstation was opening my PS3 when I bought it for $300. Had not a single game but I was so happy with it. (I was a kid so no money to buy games with the console) Played the hell out of demos while waiting for my first game. Which turned out to be Metal Gear Solid 4.

No question my favorite moment was Playstation launch day on 9/9/95. Got it with a discount and was so excited because it was my first home console (although I had experince with Sega CDX, SNES, and NES before that.) I knew that it was gonna be great from day one.

I don't get the fear of IT. Tim Curry is largely hilarious in that movie sans a few rather creepy moments. My favorite is when he's screwing with the one guy in the library.

Favorite Playstation memory....that's hard. Hmm, this may sound odd but it may have been hunting for old PSOne games I wanted to play as my first was a PS2. I remember lucking out and finding old copies of VII, VIII and IX in the same EB Games.

Which makes it weirder that I don't recall ever doing proper playthroughs. I vaguely remember VII and VIII and I stopped halfway through IX due to school coming up. Well, I got them all on sale along with WotL for my Vita during that sale so I'll be starting with VII.

First PS2 game I ever played was Kingdom Hearts though. That game made me want a PS2.

Wait, what if we see KH versions of Lightning or Noctis in KHIII? That could be weird.

Getting to Burmecia for the first time in Final Fantasy IX. It was the part of the game/narrative that really cemented my love for the game as 1 of if not my most favorite RPGs. The area's music was outstanding, the art was good etc just so much awesome

My fave playstation memory was probably playing DQVII for a zillion hours, or beating FFVII and FFVIII 100 times each. I was/am in love with those games.

Also the first time I discovered suikoden....glorious. Now it just hurts.

Funny, I just bought DQVII yesterday on a recommendation. It'll be my first DQ game as well.

My best memory is playing dragonball z matches with my childhood friend and my brother. Us three had so many battles spanning so many different dbz games with such heated competition.

Or it could be the time when I got that amazing blue box with the beastly PS2 in it and I played killzone split screen with bots all day with my brother. That was some of the best multiplayer I've ever experienced, and my first taste of fps matches with so many players even though they were bots. It was funny cause the bots were all assigned names and me and my brother would pretend they were people we knew from real life for fun, haha.

The first time setting up the PS1 and play my first PS1 game Harvest Moon Back to Nature. I've seen my friend play it a lot and saving up money for about 6 months but still wasn't enough to purchase it but that day when school ended my aunt took me to gamestore and told me to choose what game I'd like to and of course I chose Harvest Moon.

Probably the first time I saw it in action. Was a little kid who was still renting random games for the SNES/Genesis at the time at the local video game rental store. My cousins from Florida came to visit for the summer and they all huddled up in the basement to play with the PlayStation they brought with them. I remember the first words I said when I went down there and saw them huddled around the TV, playing Resident Evil:

"So, this is the PlayStation, huh?"

I sat back with my barbecue corn chips and watched them all screw up badly as they took turns trying to play with Chris. I enjoyed every moment of it. I had to have one for myself.

FFVII is on PSN ya know? $10 classic. I played a good amount of it but then I stopped and waited to play on Vita instead. Haven't played it since, don't know why, but what I played of it was amazing. The atmosphere with the music is soo good. Dat remake though, it might happen, who knows.

Well you can play that now, all PS3s can play PS1 games. It's been running emulated even on the PS2slim, in which they didn't need the PS1 hardware anymore. PS2, PSP, Vita, and PS3 all have the emulator.

hmmmm...I think it's a tie between beating Ruby Weapon and getting Knights of the Round in FFVll or beating MGS for the first time. Both fantastic and memorable experiences.

and LOL at the last page of this thread...Can't believe you guys are that scared of clowns. I mean, they are pretty scary, but those pictures don't do anything to me. Maybe because I knew better than to watch things like "It" or "Exorcist" as a child '-)

PS4 hype is crazy! But I do think the amount of games ppl are expecting might be out of hand. I mean, honestly, if Infamous and Killzone are both incredible, how many megatons do we really need? I think and hope Sony will focus on a limited number of games that reveal quality, and let indy's shine between big releases. I think i want AAA announcement after announcement, but honestly when would I even have time to play all this stuff with PS3 still being so strong? Anyway, here's my perfect E3 for Sony...

-Montage of 3rd party titles that are important but already showcased on MS conference earlier like BF4, Madden, Fifa, COD etc...

-Console reveal that's attractive at an affordable price-point

-A customizable OS that's easy to use and personalized, and update to Home that's integrated into the OS and a bigger part of the gamer profile. Show non-gaming services as well and the experience is improved from current consoles.

-Basic features of PSN still free, bunch of goodies behind PS+ like Gaikai

-Vita support confirmed for the long term with a montage of games and this year's standout titles

-PS3 montage doing the same thing as Vita, confirming long term support and highlighting standout exclusives.

-Knack/Infamous/Drive Club/KZSF/Media Molecule/Witness/Destiny/FF15/The Last Guardian, 1-2 surprise games (Sega w/Shenmue/Yakuza for example) and teasers for Santa Monica and ND future projects. End with whatever would create the most buzz, and do another montage with all platforms, past and future, with a continued marketing slogan focusing on the gamer.

The day I came home from school and Electronics Boutique (or EB Games, I forget) with a copy of Silent Hill 2. My parents hadn't come home from work, I had the place to myself and it was getting dark outside. Remains in my top three games of all time.

Ahhhh, you jus reminded me, playing Tekken 3 and late Tekken 6 with my brother and dad. My dad love spamming and it's so funny when he plays as bob and keeps doing that stomach bash move. Playing through the Tekken 3 adventure mode and actually beating it was one my greatest accomplishments ever. I found it to be extremely difficult and frustrating. Do you remember that?

Id go with playing Uncharted 1-3 but I'll go farther back and choose Playing MHFU for the first time. I remember being floored by the graphics and animations on PSP at the time. And also making really important RL friends to play it the game together. Good times.

I remember that my friend had a birthday party and got a PS1 as his present. He picked out resident evil 1 as a game and played it all in front of us.

We screamed at the FMV and were so scared, the first zombies made up shake in fear way too much.

Then I remember shopping and convincing my mom to buy the PS1 due to me doing well in my exams.

Then I remember getting my PS2 after I worked a lot in my summer job and saving enough. I was sitting outside the store for hours on whether to use my money up before my friends saw me and convinced me to buy it.

Playstation has a lot of memories for me, I'm sure everyone has their own playstation memories.

My best playstation memory would be the day my cousin brought my playstation to me from the store he worked at. I had 2 contollers, 3 games and endless fun. The game that brought me the most happiness was suikoden. I still play that game routinely. I have owned every PlayStation console since then. I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I also enjoyed Brave Fencer Musashi. I fear that game will never get its just due.

Probably the year (2002) I got a PS2, GTA III, Vice City, Metal Gear Solid 2, Max Payne, Devil May Cry, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, and NBA 2K3 for Christmas. So awesome.

Best Playstation memory to me it's hard to pick, but off all the great ones, i think what stays n my mind through these years is playing Gran Turismo for the first time back in june of 1998...

I felt literally shocked that a racing game could be like that. I remember taking a purple Mitsubishi 3000GT and buying every upgrade, only to find out that the car was a monster.

I was a Sega kid, and instantly became a Playstation guy, sold my Saturn, never looked back.

Then after that i had like 100 awesome moments with PS games... and i hope this continues in the future.

Favourite Playstation memory?

Buying a new PSX and getting FFVII and Crash Bandicoot with it.

I was an addict of FFVI on the SNES. As soon as I booted VII and saw the opening FMV, I literally went :0 and called my friends to come over right away. We played for almost 10 hours straight. I was completely hooked!!

Ah yes, the first crash bandicoot. A true nex gen moment for me coming from the genesis. First time i played that game, I couldn't believe my eyes. Was totally blown away. My first 3d game i think. Such a beautiful game even by today's standards.

I was eight years old and had never had a console or gaming system at all in my life. Always saw them at friends' houses and stuff. Then one day on my birthday my parents bring home this big box labeled 'PlayStation'. I was so much in disbelief that I honestly thought they bought me a large chocolate bar in the shape of PlayStation 1. And I was hyped as shit for that! I tear through the package and lo and behold, a real life PS1. I died

Pick 1 moment/memory.

This one is easy for me. While there are a lot of PS memories during the PSOne and PS2 days to choose from, I'm going to go with the PS3 memory.

I was just 17 and about a month away from the MGS4 ps3 bundle's release date. I've always been a giant MGS fan and I had never had a ps3 before, so I was working a part time job waiting tables and saving up for the MGS4 Bundle. Well, one day, I spilled hot coffee all over my right foot which caused third degree burns and an awful hospital trip. After that, I was confined to crutches and unable to walk. I didn't care. I forced my managers to let me do small jobs around the restaurant/theater in order to save up enough to get the bundle at launch. I would sit in a chair and pour drinks for the other waiters and sell tickets. I was in so much pain, but when the day finally came, I took a week off from the job and played my brand new ps3 every single day. It was the first time I had ever bought anything that big for myself.
