Fair point. Guess I'm just too desperate for this game...

You shut your mouth dont you wish that on the Tom holland!Playstation doing what SPE and Marvel never will.
Deliver a worthwhile Spider-Man experience. Just remember when Spider-Man goes 0 for 6 in the movie realm next year, that there is this bright light on the horizon. At least someone out there is going to look after Spidey.

Thats alot of hope Medi. Have more faith in insomniac personallyHave much more hope for the movie than the actual game. This Spidey game really needs to impress me.

Idk I think they'll both knock it out of the park which would honestly be great for both of them, while not connected in story or anything marketing wise coupe a goldmine if they're both excellentI have yet to be really disappointed by a Marvel film. Heck, maybe Tom Holland won't turn out to be a joke.

Shit just got real, ND animations has always been some of the best in the industry.
So it looks like Uncharted 4's Lead Animator is about to start work on this

I keep forgetting how beautifully nuanced the animations were in UC4.
This can only bode well for Spider-man. Are we really, finally on the cusp of a good () Spider-man game?dare I even say amazing
Any news on swinging mechanics?
Web of Shadows was already amazing. I don't know why people keep forgetting that game.

I think this is the earliest I've ever been hyped for a game.
Is it possible they will show early game play footage at PS meeting? this will be great game to showcase Neo power.
I think it's possible. IIRC the Marvel Games people made it seem like updates would be coming somewhat regularly (or that the next update was not extremely far away from E3) which is why some speculated it would be at Comic-Con but obviously that wasn't the case, but three months later in early September seems plausible. I hope it is there. Is it possible they will show early game play footage at PS meeting? this will be great game to showcase Neo power.

Uh, they aren't actually all that above average outside of cutscenes, so I'm not sure why this matters. Unless this is going to end up being yet another "cinematic blockbuster" game where you basically hold forward and hit X to the next explosive cutscene.
In between bits of substandard gunplay of course.
Don't agree with this at all. I can't name many studios that have the level of animation that ND has in there games or just the level of improvement they show from game to game.
As for your cinematic blockbuster comments, not sure what that has to do with animation or Spiderman... But okay!

Lol he's always like this when it comes to PS4 games don't mind itThis is absolute madness. Uncharted 4's in-game animations are fucking incredible. I still boot the game up from time to time just to move around an environment or two.
You are a cynical chap, Sanctuary.

Web of Shadows had the best combat of the modern Spidey games byfar and no offense to Insomniac but I dont't think they'll top it. As it looks now, the combat seems pretty standard.
Jumping from enemy to enemy was so satisfying and they actually did manage to make air combat fun in a Spidey game.
Everything else about the game was kind of crummy though. But I definitely had a sort of unfair resentment towards Beenox the direction they went with the IP, even when they went open-world again.
Really the real villain was probably Activision.

He is not going to produce a list of 100 studios to back up his average statement. It was a drive-by comment that was weirdly aggressive in tone for some reason, so I wouldn't think anyfhing of it. Curious to see who is producing better animation in their video games than Naughty Dog, though.
With the exception of Web Strikes, the combat in the game was essentially mashing the attack button in combination with others for win more purposes. It wasn't great by any means, especially when you can just web strike, which is more beneficial. It had very little thinking and there was a lot of combat sections, which takes away from the traversal element of Spider-Man. It was just swing there, mash square for victory, swing there, maybe switch to black suit and do it again. These ideas were better implemented into the Beenox beat 'em-ups in my opinion for better flow in combat.
None of the Spider-Man games had good combat. Spider-Man 2 was a precursor to the Arkham style combat that we know and love today but it was very basic and forced you to impact web everything before attacking. It was fun for its time but that was 12 years ago.
Web of Shadows has shades of a good game in there but the awful story, voice acting, script, mindless combat sections and the dumb RPG-like morality system really ruins the experience. The quick-time events were horrible too as they came out of nowhere and gave you no time to react. It tried to throw in everything that was hot at the time (Mass Effect, God of War) and it just doesn't seem right. Some of the boss battles were definitely cool, but I feel like Spider-Man games typically always deliver on that front. I also agree with how apocalypse based storylines just don't work for a Spider-Man anything. Game story wise, Ultimate Spider-Man and the OG PS1 games still had it best.
Best wishes.
