Hamill recorded that line specifically for the trailer.just remembered an issue I have with the trailer #1. It says "I have it, my sister has it, you have that power too" - uh, no one says this in the movie. Or any other movie. wtf?

That's the point, though.Yeah, it rubbed me the wrong way... him up in Phasma's face comedically like... very Disney/Marvel of them to do that. This is someone who took you from your parents and trained you to kill innocent lives... the "happy go lucky" reaction is not one I expect out of that character.
I think my main question with that whole fight is why didn't Kylo just force choke him? He could have just laughed when Finn turned on the lightsaber and choked him to death. Game over. But nope. Doesn't make any sense to me, especially when Kylo seems to be much stronger with force abilities than he is with actual combat.
It's like some bleach shit. I'm just going to hit you harder and faster is what she did. I thought she was gonna do something force-yWhat am I reading right now?
"Why didn't they just use force powers?" Is the Jedi equivalent of ""Why didn't they just shoot out the tires?"
Wait, when do we need to have Thread #2 for this up?
Should I just start it and then PM a mod to close this one?

that made me question, what fucking good is the storm trooper armor? if one shot could just fuckin kill you?
Hamill recorded that line specifically for the trailer.
Not explained so no need to assume.
Then replace it with something more substantial than subpar sword play in a forest. All this fight showed is how Ren is a complete jobber when the story demands it.
I'm confused as to how that helps? Looked like he was a gorilla pounding his chest to seem strong or he was channeling his inner Alright Alright Alright *hums*
Well, they showed force powers earlier when it suited the story. Why gimp him at the end? Because he required to lose. He would have dummied both but they write him not to. He force pushed her with a blaster shot as well. He could have done it again.
It's bad writing.
Calling Ray a Mary Sue is fucking sexist is what it is. Oh no, a strong female character who's obviously got the force and spent a better part of her life fending for herself manages to perform some mildly impressive feats under pressure, call the drama police!

Using the force requires concentration though. Throughout the whole movie they show that Kylo is easily upset and pretty unfocused compared to previous sith and jedi. Seeing Finn with the lightsaber pushed him over the edge after an already difficult day filled with failure and emotion. Why didn't Kylo Force Pull the saber from Finn?
We're just gonna have to accept that some stuff is poorly written and roll with it.
No he didn't, that's from Return of the Jedi.Hamill recorded that line specifically for the trailer.

It is in Jedi, but it was revealed during production that the line was rerecorded in the new order by him just for the trailer. It's not taken straight from RotJ.No he didn't. That's in Jedi, he just doesn't say it in that order in the real scene.

How would a broad even know how to fight?
It's not speculating on good evidence, it's just speculating with giant hoops to make things fit.Like what are you even saying here about assuming? I'm speculating. Isn't that what we are doing here? Discussing things from the movie and speculating on what some of it means?
Why didn't Vader choke Luke to death at the end of RotJ?
Ren should have used Force Heal before fighting Finn.
Remember. The saber didn't react to Kylo.
In the scene when it was pulled, it hesitated, and then flew into Rey's hand.
There was some Force within it. Don't you remember when Rey first touched it?

That was before Finn lit the saber. He already Force Pushed Rey into a tree.
No he didn't, that's from Return of the Jedi.
Hah even Finn got a couple hits on him. Finn earlier got rekt in CQC by a regular stormtrooper.Seriously? He wrecked shit. He stopped a blaster bolt which I didn't even know was a thing.
Wanted Luke evil. No hint that Ren wanted Rey to be on his side until he asks which is the end of the fight. Say it before and him going easy makes sense.
The freighter scene was kind of a missed opportunity for Han to "shoot first" at the pirates.

well Snoke did tell Kylo to bring Rey to him.
I just found him randomly but I find his reviews to be very in depth and well articulated. If I could summarize my thoughts about TFA, it would almost be word for word this review.Fantastic review. Agree with all of it.
It's Star Wars writing. It makes for a fun movie.Well, they showed force powers earlier when it suited the story. Why gimp him at the end? Because he required to lose. He would have dummied both but they write him not to. He force pushed her with a blaster shot as well. He could have done it again.

Oh, I heard the very quiet echoes in the background was the new recording. Huh.It is in Jedi, but it was revealed during production that the line was rerecorded in the new order by him just for the trailer. It's not taken straight from RotJ.
Could be there were "fingerprints" left on it.Isn't the force exclusive to living beings? I interpreted it as Rey having a stronger connection to the force at that moment.
That, too.I took that scene as they both tried to pull it at the same time and she just overpowered him for it. Not that it didn't react at all to Kylo.
Kylo throws temper tantrums, he gets very emoyionsl, and he probably wanted to torture the traitor stormtrooper personally, since he was the reason everything ended up the way it did.
Because of Fin they lost the pilot, they lost the droid, and the resistance is on their doorstep. If Fin had just been a good stormtrooper, kylo may mot have had to kill his dad that day.
Nailed it
As what? All he knows is Snoke wants Rey there. Not explained. You're just speculating. It's not even visually explained so you're rolling the dice.
It's Star Wars writing. It makes for a fun movie.
I think its pretty logical to conclude that Snoke wants to turn her to the dark side if shes as powerful in the force as Kylo suggests. Not really a big leap there. Mirrors the entire saga you know.
Limited skill slots. Being an edgelord he would never be caught dead equipping a healing ability.

isn't it also a Light Side power? would have taken more Force Power than normal if Kotor taught me anythingLimited skill slots. Being an edgelord he would never be caught dead equipping a healing ability.
