Isn't that supposed to be announced this summer? Maybe e3
I imagine it needs to have a bigger roster before it comes out, atm its mostly heroes.
Why are Square Enix so freaking slow at making games?
How many years have FFVII Remake and KH3 been in development now?

Nah Square in general has gotten a lot better since Matsuda took over. FF15, KH3, and FF7 specifically are all holdovers from the prior era of the company. Not coincidentally they've all been headed by Nomura. I legitimately feel he doesn't know how to set proper deadlines and hit milestones.
They've announced and delivered on time all of their other games recently. Setsuna and Nier Automata are perfect examples. DQ11, FF14 Stormblood, and Octopath Traveler are upcoming and haven't been endlessly delayed.
Shocking news. This is Nomura we're talking about.
All this stuff about KH3 being way more ambitious and easy bigger than any game before it.
How exactly do you parse that from less than 10 minutes of gameplay footage over 4 years?
Throwing a bunch of Heartless on screen in a barren map with some particle effects ain't exactly on the level of The Witcher 3.

One KH game per year, 1.5/2.5 were released this year.
2018 is the year, unless they decide to port the games again lol
If you thought it was coming this year or next, your setting yourself up for disappointment.
This is a Nomura magnum opus creation we're talking about.
I Am Setsuna (Tokyo RPG Facotry, smaller in-house studio) and Nier Automata (Platinum Games) are technically not developed by SE though. My mentioning of XIV is meant to include the MMO and its expansions as a whole, and DQ as a franchise has always played it safe and sticks to its formula for success.
I get that FF and KH development has started since the last regime, but they're SE's flagship franchises and should be top priorities. The publishing side is pretty much their saving grace right now.
We've gotten tons of KH content since then, .
tons? really?...
Fall 2019 for just part 1, please be excited.
I'd be surprised if anyone was surprised by this news.
People are very ignorant of how game development works, and it annoys me because you have ignorant statements like these come out.

Actually, I think it's YOU that is unaware of how game development works.
See, I'm no developer, but ---
tons? really?...
yeah if KH3 is going to be anything like the Aqua episode, then nothing has really changed enough to warrant this level of silence.
It's basically KH2 with a shader combover...which is fine, i dont think anyone is asking for anything else, but jesus christ.
I'm going to actually predict an engine switch for FF7R at some point. I mean, why else would the game be broken into pieces and still be taking forever to get any kind of footage out?

See, I'm no developer, but I have an idea of what devs can go through in the industry, especially when it comes to deadlines.
They already have the Goat UE4?
Well, do remember new scenarios will be added. Plus it's no longer pieces of blocks moving their hands and such. It's like Nomura said "if they wanted to make a simple remake with upgraded graphics why get him?" I'm paraphrasing.
Actually, I think it's YOU that is unaware of how game development works.
See, I'm no developer, but I have an idea of what devs can go through in the industry, especially when it comes to deadlines. We hear stories about it all the time. People getting fired for being the dev behind a rushed product, or people getting fired for being the dev behind vaporware. It can be very touch and go when it comes to how long a game should be in the oven.
However, the common thread is that those devs all have deadlines to meet, and that's the case for everyone, no matter how talented you are. Even Hideo Kojima, arguably the most influential person in the entire industry, has deadlines to meet and people to answer to.
Nomura? Fuck meeting a deadline, he can't even set a deadline. Fuck a slow pace, he doesn't fucking move at any pace at all. Hell, we just had a situation where he was kicked off a major Final Fantasy game just so it would see the light of day. And you, Famassu, and all the other apologists come into these threads and defend him as if he deserves a pass for being the most inefficient dev in video games.
No. Many devs, BIGGER devs like Kojima have been fired for way less. Nomura is a great artist and character designer, but you can honestly say he's probably the worst project manager in the business. In fact, throwing ANOTHER project on his plate after he failed so tremendously with XV says a lot about SE.
I may not know a whole lot about game development, but I know enough to say that Nomura should've just stuck to designing characters. And I certainly know enough to say that he's a grown man who doesn't need you or anyone else making sure he isn't held accountable by the very community he makes games for.
I keep forgetting this, this is actually a good point, and i remember being estatic actually reading that news. Hopefully, this remake will actually be a "reimagining", where the story is more or less the same but the scenario is completely different.
I hope that is the case, because that would almost make this Final Fantasy XVI.
I hope FFVIIR doesn't get in the way of FFXVI Don't want to wait so long again until the next new FF.2016: FFXV
2017: DQXI
2018: KH3
