It doesn't tell you this but you don't need to line up all four boxes to cut the rocks. It's pretty generous and as long as you're generally in the area, you can cut it.

If you absolutely, positively can't cut the rocks you can also simply just run towards Armstrong and you'll dodge them. It's still far better to cut since you get the health pickups.

Just read this on reddit... The developer of the early access game Towns has basically decided to give up on the game. By all accounts the game is still unfinished despite the fact that the early access tag is gone.

This is pretty much the worst case scenario with the early access program.

The guy is debating between hiring someone to finish the game or going open source.

Since I own the game, I'd prefer the first option, but open source could be great for the distant future.

I posted it jokingly in the Risk of Rain Vita thread, but

I wish Steam on Playstation would have gotten somewhere. If there was a version of Steam on Vita where I didnt have to re-purchase all the indie games that are coming out for it, i'd buy one in a heartbeat.

I pine for a digital future where I only buy a game once and get access to it on all platforms that support it.

That is the way it should be done.

edit: or at the very least a minimal 'port charge' if I have a license to the base software on another platform already.

it's clearly a pipe dream tho cause im talking full-on steam integration

I wanna play Spelunky from my bed but have my Steam friends leaderboards, not some crappy PSN stuff

So, I installed a new motherboard and reformatted my C: BUT I made sure to use Steam Mover to transfer the games on that drive to my D:. I was able to get Steam to recognize the games and drive, Origin handled it fine, but Uplay shat itself and vomited hot poop and didn't recognize jack. I'm stuck redownloading AC4 again, goddammit

Looks like it lived up to the "die prematurely" part, then. >.>

We'll probably see the android ios steam app distribute and install mobile game's before ever seeing first party steam portable console computer thingy. I'd say just get an x86 tablet and try to control it with bluetooth controller :p.

Don't be sorry :). I'm glad you enjoyed it and hope you enjoy City even more.

 It's all your fault!

I saw your screenies earlier and was sorely tempted to troll the game in the comments but resisted the temptation.

Time for some more coffee as I now know what I'll be busy doing for the next half an hour!

heh heh heh

Hahaha thanks! It's a shame you didn't like these games, but know that I don't hate you too much for it :p And feel free to troll away, I like getting comments on my screenshots and seeing that letter turn orange, lol

Plus there's nothing bad that could be said about this game, I'm sure about it!

I hate acronyms. Everyone should just type out the whole word.

(I agree with you, acronyms should be banned)

I got an email telling me a wishlist game was on sale...Remember Me DLC! And the main game isn't discounted at all. So not only do I not know if the DLC is worth it (people in this thread didn't seem to rave about it, even though I hate the idea of a game where you can't do all the moves without paid DLC), I can't even purchase it without the main game I'm guessing!

Nvidia Shield. You know you want one.

Or... we can all hope that when the Vita dies, someone hacks it finally and puts custom firmware on there allowing remote play from your PC. Someone had one of these working with L4D at some point and it looked like it worked well... however, the project was seemingly abandoned and never put to market on what is now PSM.

So I'll actually have to pay full price for Castlevania? Not a big deal I suppose as I love the series and first LoS but cheap is always preferable :D

And the Vita will live forever.

This looks.....terrible

I love some of those background music loops. I never knew game development had so much in common with the porn industry. >.>

I might seriously consider it if (okay, who am I kidding here, when) it hits 75% off during a Steam sale, since it looks like it might qualify for legit "so bad it's good" status.

Any digital media should be owned this way.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
So, this is going to be available in the next version of Enhanced Steam

You'll be able to sort your (or any) achievement page based on the date the achievements were unlocked (newest first).

EDIT:
Also, stealth brag

Oh god, playing Spelunky just after watching a playthrough video made by someone who actually knows how to play it is probably the most disappointing thing that ever happened in my life. :'(

I take it you won't be posting a playthrough video? :p

The code would be open-source but not the game assets.

I don't know if it was actually in Early Access, but it was pretty much one of the poster-childs for why the Early Access program was created. It was in Alphafunding for a long time on Desura (and was even part of the Indie Royale Alphafund bundle), and the idea was popular enough for it to skyrocket to the top of the Greenlight charts when that program launched. Then it was released on Steam as a regular release, but people who bought it noticed that it was still pretty much an unfinished alpha, so there were many complaints and refund demands at the time. I don't know how much the situation improved since then, as it has been a part of a few sales.

Is it possible for you to add a way to sort the specials tab? Like by price or alphabetically.

Do you mean the one on the homepage?

Ok, then that's not good.

The development of Towns was such a mess, and they clearly ripped the 200 000+ buyers off. That's a really bad advertisment for Early Access (even though, technically, the game has never been EA on Steam).

I enjoyed it, even on the hard difficulty setting. I thought it was a solidly average TPS, which is something I hadn't played for a while by that moment. It admittedly had a couple of frustrating moments, but the challenge was mostly fair and satisfying. The main treat did not lie in the gameplay realm, so the shooting mechanics were fine for what they were and didn't clash with the narrative much. Never really understood all the "the gameplay is bad, but the story is good" talk, I think it works great as a package.

a kinder, gentler sort of Scrooge
Lords Of Shadow 2 demo was nice, but I really wish there was a setting to turn down the colour and brightness, perhaps an opacity setting too, of the weapon attacks. Kept obscuring an enemy and made me not want to use them.

I also disliked the game taking control away from me just to say GO HERE AND DO THIS! when I just wanted to let Dracula play with his food before feasting on them.

Mmmmh playing Spec Ops The Line (finally) and I'm not getting the hate toward its gameplay... is it just me? It seems fine for now....

It's competent at worst. The main issue is that it's nothing different or special and rather basic in terms of all the actual combat. The issue I don't get is the confusion people have over "I don't like the FPS cover based combat" and "I love the choices made in the game when I get to do something or not or break a window to let sand in" with only the former somehow being counted as gameplay. All play done in game is game play.

Of course none of which has stopped Valve from highlighting it several times during sales...

Anyone having issues with the square/circle(or x/b) buttons randomly not working in the LoS2 demo? Using the keyboard for now but the imput for dodging isn't in the controls menu.....what is it?

Game looks crazy gorgeous though, that sun brother boss is incredible.

Man, if I did it, anyone can. Same deal as Super Hexagon, really (not the game, but the fact that it is possible). Don't give up, the world is counting on you!

Yeah but it is crazy ass Kojima-world, so maybe it would be better if I let it lapse into global war?

It's the same for blocking (LT on the 360 pad) plus moving in any direction.
