I really liked his gravelly voice. It wasn't a Nathan Drake everyday guy voice nor a typical brute army solder voice. It was something different, portraying both sides of the karma scheme pretty well IMO

I thought the majority of the bad reaction to Cole 2.0 was because he was even more horribly generic and "focus tested" in his appearance and voice. Not because OG Cole was the bestest character design everer.

Exactly. The Cole 2.0 looked 100x more focus tested and tweaked for mass appeal. The original was their original vision for the character.

Urgh, I always suspected that at SP there'd be some holdouts who clung to the fecal stench of the first game's characters, it's a shame they won out.

Frankly the best thing they could have done for inFamous2 would have been to kept the gameplay and scrapped everything to do the with the story and characters. Old Cole and everything to do with him, writing, voice acting, hell anybody who had any hand in the conception, design and implementation of him should have been sealed in a vault, encased in concrete, dropped in the middle of the ocean and covered in 40 tonnes of earth, never to see light again.

Once again, urgh Sucker Punch, urgh.

My biggest concern right now is that the voice and model will not match up. I wasn't upset by the change because the new VA wouldn't fit the old model, IMO.

Still, old model + some hair wouldn't be a bad idea!

His new voice doesn't sound *that* different from his old voice, and it REALLY doesn't sound right coming out of his new (now rejected) model. I'm really not getting the hate for the old voice actor combined with love of the new one. The new one sounds slightly less natural and more affected to me. Like a guy doing a voice instead of just a voice.

The only complaint I had regarding the Cole 2.0 was those abberrations passed off as tattoos. I would need backstory and context to understand their significance. They just came off as throw a bunch if whatever on his arms to show his tortured soul as he comes to terms with his evolution.

Though I have to admit, I do prefer "normal" female characters to be attractive in games (/movies etc.).
Maybe they could rewrite the story to make ugly Cole very rich and/or famous... :>
