The Bar For Cutscenes Has Once Again Risen, Thanks To Phoenix Games...

On all these Disney knock off cartoon 'games', the only stuff Phoenix actually does is the puzzles, menus and the dubbing. They've all been licensed and made into 'games' from this german animation studio's cartoon DVD line up: http://www.dingo-pictures.com/index.html
In fact I don't think Phoenix even do the dubbing as on that website it says they have a separate company that does dubbing for them.

Well, that explains how they can produce so much shovelware in such a short time span. Judging by the summaries given on the animation studio's site I assume that they are handling the English translation themselves.

BTW: There are even more of such trash-publishers, the next worst one being Blast Games: http://www.blast-games.com/en/default.asp Their games are also disturbingly bad and mostly based on licences no one cares about anymore (Dr. Doolittle, Jumanji, Home Alone, Lassie). I bought their Xena game out of curiosity and it shocked me how bad games could be in (then) 2007. In terms of gameplay, sound and even graphics it managed to be worse than the Xena games from 1999. The entire speech in the game consisted of the name "Gabrielle", some grunts and a pitiful excuse of Xena's scream. Every room in the first two levels was square-shaped and had nothing in it except for 1-2 torches, vases or enemies. The game still terrifies me...but see for yourselves: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=emM9V6Zi4KM

At least they have sound effects and more than one voice in the German original.

Animated Movies
Production, Dubbing, Storyboard

You want to produce an animated film for a special topic?

Or you need the synchronization and dubbing of an existing movie into other languages?

Please contact us. We take over the complete production, beginning with the film script up to the finished DVD.

By co-operation with worldwidevoices, we can do dubbing into nearly every needed language.

I think NeoGAF needs to save up and have its own movie made in German, dubbed into English, and then maybe even licensed by Phoenix Games for one of their puzzle games.

That game looks approximately ten times more stunning visually as the Phoenix games, plus it actually seems playable. Much better than Phoenix's output.

Truely amazing. :lol
I picked up the Dutch accent straight away, one of the worst accents around.
Judging from the voicework and the "quality" of the "games" I'd say it's probably a small group of students haveing a laugh while robbing the wallets of uneducated morrons stupid enough to buy this kind of crap. :lol

It's like the video game equivalent of listening to Vogon poetry.

But Vogon poetry is only the second-worst poetry in the galaxy and this is much worse than that.

They did put Destiny Island from Kingdom Hearts on the Peter Pan cover.

The VA and animation together is pure lulz.

In all seriousness, there is one game on their site that I like the look of: Ocean Commander

*bunch of images*

It may play like garbage, but for 8 quid I'll give it a whirl.

Agreed with the others, it's puzzling how decent this looks...

So awesome. So very awesome.

Do you have that Camelot game? I'd love to see that.

Nah. I saw it in EB once, but it was like $40 so I quickly backed out of the store with a horrified look on my face.

BTW, I desperately need to catch a glimpse of the cut-scenes from this game...

Never seen this one around either. :( Seems it has the same goon characters from Animal Soccer World/Dalmations/God knows what!

Holy shit is the bottom of the disc blue? As in, it's on a CD?

Yeah, some are on the traditional PS2 blue CD's, newer ones just seem to be plain non-fancy usual CD-ROMs. Their budget probably doesn't allow the luxury of blue dye anymore.
