Sony Pictures has revealed three motion posters The Dark Tower, the much-awaited film adaptation of the novel of same name. The film stars Idris Elba, Matthew McConaughey, Tom Taylor, Claudia Kiim, Fran Kranz, Abbey Lee, and Jackie Earle Haley.

A new trailer will hit tomorrow so stay tuned for that when it hits.

The film has been stated to be not a typical adaptation, but more of a new take on the series. The Dark Tower follows Jake Chambers (Tom Taylor), a young 11-year-old adventure seeker who discovers clues about another dimension called Mid-World.

Upon following the mystery, he is spirited away to Mid-World where he encounters the lone frontiersman knight Roland Deschain (Idris Elba) who is on a quest to reach the “Dark Tower” that resides in End-World and reach the nexus point between time and space that he hopes will save Mid-World from extinction.

But with various monsters and a vicious sorcerer named Walter Padick (Matthew McConaughey) hot on their trail, the unlikely duo find that their quest may be difficult to complete.

Have a look at the motion posters below.

Holy shit. I was imagining posters like this with a friend the other night, and here they are.

I've yet to see a good motion poster so I won't judge the movie based on them but studios really should stop doing fucking motion posters.

I'm not very optimistic about this movie, sadly. But still interested in checking out the trailer tomorrow.

Ugh...while I love the book, and am working my way through the series, but that description sounds bad. I know it's a sequel, rather than an adaption, but damn.

Damn, those posters are awkward with all those random objects moving unnaturally in an otherwise static image.

It'd be getting into huge spoilers, but a lot of the terrible shit that happens is because of Roland's selfish obsession with the Tower.

I've read the books and I understand that but it doesn't make him a villain, especially in a series where there are literal human eaters.

Those motion posters are some awful shit. They don't inspire much confidence, then there's the shoddy trailer that leaked.
