Everything about Twilight AXIS just seems like Bandai/Sunrise cheaping out. The animation staff is ridiculously small, the entire thing is barely the length of an episode of a TV series, and the model kits are just modifications of old molds.

It's a shame because the source material could actual work really well as a Thunderbolt December Sky/F91 length movie

That's 100% the character plot and motivations in Maxi Boost On and in EXA VS. You literally fight AI clones of Sthesia from Full Boost, and they fight for the right to fuck you. The last boss is hella dumb too but I won't spoil that.

Sometimes it is okay to be glad that you don't get certain things.

I have been having a urge to buy some more Master grades and decided to order a few that I have had an eye on for a while.

GM Sniper 2, I have been wanting to add some of the more standard mobile suits to my collection since it has primarly been the main Gundam units aside from my Gouf.

Gundam Mark 2 ver 2.0 (Titan colors), Not much us to say aside from I think the titans colors make the mark 2 look way better than the AEUGs color scheme.

Sazabi Ver.Ka, Now this bad boy I have wanted since I watched Chars Counterattack for the first time. I already have the Nu Gundam ver ka and that is probably my favorite gunpla kit and I hear that Sazabi is also equally as good of a kit.

Kinda annoyed that Tiaria and Virtue Gundam are DLC in the new Versus... as well as Barbatos Lupis. Athrun and a handful of other major characters not being a part of the initial roster but a bunch of side ones there has me worried.

Don't know if I'm down for the inevitable dlc.

Oh boy, the only reason I'd want to buy that game is for the Lupus, but as DLC? Fuck that.

Its free either as a day one code inclusion or pre-order inclusion. Grabbing my copy from a small store so hopefully its in box. After that they are 600 something yen.

So... I picked up the HG Gundam Mark II last week because I want to give Gunpla a serious shot. And before even starting to assemble it, I ordered the Vidar off of Amazon because the Vidar is badass.

Pls halp.

And while I need the money for bills, I... really want that Blue Frame metal build.

I myself jumped right into MGs with the RX-78-2 Ver 3.0, and I have yet to build any other grade. That may not be the wisest course of action. As JadedWriter said though you should be okay either way. The only time I ever felt like it was a challenge or at least daunting was sitting down to build the Full Armor Gundam Ver ka.

I would agree that you can just jump into most MG's or 1/100 scales. They simply have more parts but are not exactly more difficult to make for the most part if you follow the instructions.

Will ditto the stay away form transforming stuff for your first one though. They can be a pain in the neck, lots of moving parts inside and outside, if something is put in wrong/slightly off it won't transform/will need to be taken apart and hopefully not snapped/broken to make it work. Certain ones are better than others in this regard.

My Nu Gundam Ver Ka has finally been assembled except for its funnels. I am pretty hyped by it. Very poseable, very intimidating, very impressive. I have never built a Ver Ka before, but the extra level of detail was more than I expected.

For anyone who has built a perfect grade kit, how big is the leap in detail over MG? I am considering tackling one soon-ish.

I had done some HGs as a child, but it wasn't until last December that I bought and built my first kit for real. It was the Amazing Red MG. It was completely worth it and I had no difficulties with it. I don't think I could ever buy a HG or RG kit now.

Detail is a pretty massive leap over MGs even more so the new MGs which is liter on detail then they use to be when it comes to internals.

Sadly though detail doesn't always make it better. Wing Zero eW is one of the most detailed Wing designed kits ever and it's a piece of trash.

From personal experience I would recommend the Strike (and the Skygrasper + Aile Striker) and 00 Raiser. If you like Strike Freedom it's also good.

Have heard good things about the PG Unicorn.

Original PG unicorn joint is very loose so it pretty much cannot make any pose other than standing with hand down. PG Banshee and FA Unicorn kinda fixed this

Of the ones I have, I really like the RX-78 and Zaku-II (especially with the add-on kits). Mk-II is great too. Zeta I wouldn't recommend as the extra weight doesn't do it's transformations any favors and even then the engineering has been outclassed by subsequent smaller kits. Wing Zero EW is just a mess and I would avoid it in general.

I've built three thus far. My opinions:

Wing Zero: A mess of a kit. A trying (not simply hard) construction with plenty of loose part, bad proportions (particularly the very short rifles), and limited poseability. The feathers on the wing are rubber to offset backheaviness, you still can't pull off any cool poses. One of the major torso pieces is also made of rubber, so good luck if you want to paint.

Strike: The pose-lover's PG. This kit can do almost anything and looks great doing it. Unlike the models before it, this one's all plastic, which unfortunately puts a clock on it. Mine's crossed the 10 year mark recently, and as of a few months ago I simply can't pose it with the Aile pack on anymore because the torso pops out from the pressure (I can barely pose it at all even with it off!). The waist and maybe the fingers seem to be the only problems though - The rest of the kit is rocksteady even after all these years.

Mk-II: The modeler's kit. This kit gets allot of praise and after building it, I can tell you it's not for its ability to pose (it's stiff, yo). It's for the crazy amount of detail in everything. The inner frame is a thing out of a painter's dreams. Indeed, it almost seems a shame to cover it up with all the flat armor that comes with the kit (although I imagine the obsessive modeler could just scribe their own panel lines). Something I also observed when building it is some of the tech on this kit that's viewed as innovative today by the community that's actually quite old - In particular molding different (color) plastics into a single part.

It's mostly done! Letting my panel lining dry and will clean it up/add the last decals tomorrow. Pretty cool that it has two sets of decals, clear sticker seals and water slides depending what your comfortable with.

Real talk though. Gloss or Matte top coat guys. Got a few hours to mull it over while I get some sleep. s
passed on going out tonight just to finish this! now my weekend officially starts

i don't own it but i stare at the box art at gundam planet, i read that articulation is not there bc it's an older PG but it's neat that you build both gp-01/fb i have the RG and it's amazing.
i love how it looks, i posted it a few months ago.

It goes back way farther than that. The V Gubdam kits had that too. But they stopped doing it because people complained or something

Gloss because it's the Ingram, which is essentially a walking cop car. Who ever heard of matte car?

It's finished!

Came out great imo. It has some frustrating parts. Namely the rubber parts between sections on the legs and what not. The use of screws made it easy to make areas TOO tight. I also don't think they were needed in general. Without using them I bet the kit would be great still. That said its sturdy as heck! Also the gimmicks for the leg holster work great while also being completely simple. Looks great glossed!

Only downsides I would say were some things like the the baton was molded in white for some reason so I painted it black. The eye camera is viably green in the anime and box, but there is no green decal so I painted that with left over green metallic paint. Ahh and the grey ends on the antenna are stickers which is weird.

Comes out a bit bigger than the average Gundam MG, (depending on which gundam) it's definitely bigger than my last kit the MG RX-78 Origins.

Providence is next but will take a break and try to focus down on that when it drops. For now going to play Gundam Versus!

Generally enjoyed this. A little slow at the start, a little hectic during the rush to get to an ending while cutting 11 episodes, the space arc was great though.

The only thing I dislike:
I don't believe that if the Frost Brothers survived they'd ever stop being evil nuances. The two wanted everyone to recognize how awesome they are, and killed indiscriminately to achieve that goal. No wheelchair is going to stop Shagia. Shoulda killed them both Garrod. Now they'll come back to haunt you in After After War Gundam XXX (Not the porn parody): Nightmares Come True or How I learned to stop screaming TIFFA all the time and find more dialogue.
