Just downloaded the new build. Hitting left on the d-pad to bring up the menu is significantly less sluggish.

You can also double tap the guide button to bring up that menu, I didn't realise this and was always going back to dash then pressing left.

KNOWN ISSUES

Party and game chat: You may be unable to hear others when joining a party chat. Workaround: Switching to game chat should allow you to hear others correctly.

And that's why the new UI sucks. Games and achievements, the two things that defined Xbox are hidden, slow and ugly.

It's what I was complaining about since first build and the way profiles look too. I stopped giving feedback, would be better off posting it on gamefaqs

Using the old dash, but I can't update Xbox Accessories app. Says there is an issue with XBL.

So, I can't even open the app to adjust my button scheme for my Elite controller.

how do you change focus of your snapped app vs your game? double tapping doesn't do it anymore.

edit: apparently GameDVR is busted. Just says "something went wrong" every time I try to start recording.

It does, but it's less apparent than it used to be. When you double tap, the focus defaults on the "unsnap" button at the bottom of the list. Next to it are two buttons for the left and right applications. So double tap + right sets focus to main app, double tap + right+ right sets focus on the snapped one.
Not very intuitive IMO, it would be better if you could use left/right instead.
Also I haven't found a quick way to snap a full screen app without voice commands. Double tap makes you browse through the list of snappable apps.

I wish they gave patch notes for the controller updates. I'd like to know if they are actively trying to improve the headset audio quality.

Nitty_Grimes

Made a crappy phPBB forum once ... once.
I haven't had a controller update today.

Have had a system update and now I have a moderate NAT whereas before it was open.

'Your network is behind a UPnP port-restricted NAT'

No, it isn't.

Okay, they must have done something in the controller update to improve the headset quality. After about an hour of using my headset I only had one very small instance of audio interference, and that very well could have been game related. Normally there is regular interference with audio popping in and out. I will be putting in plenty more headset time tonight so I'll report back if the issues pop up again. Regardless, this is the most flawless experience I have had with using a headset through the controller with or without the headset adapter.

God this has been unstable for me.

And...

Okay just as I was typing this my Halo 5 crashed. Lmao.

It's a mess. I keep getting a blue screen at times. Oh and because of this I can't access Nuketown on BO2.

Make sure you are running latest release. There's a new release this evening (US time) which fixed Nuketown.

lol. I'm really good at tech and I'm having trouble figuring out how to do stuff on this os. I can't image a casual buyer this holiday making use of even a fraction of what this thing can do.

So this is still all set to come out on the 12th (in the USA, probably 13th for me in Australia) right?

Yeah. They normally push updates in the evening, US time. So in UK in the early hours on the 13th.

However - it is possible they will push it out during the day.

Oh cool I'm looking forward to it.

I'm not sure if anyone's mentioned it in the thread, but has anyone got experience using the new dashboard with the Xbox Media Remote and the One Guide? I mostly use my Xbox for media (Plex, Youtube, Bluray Player, TV tuner) rather than games. I hope everything isn't too wonky on that front.

I use the Media Remote, with USB TV Tuner, Plex, Netflix and Amazon Instant Video. The good news is that all works really well (aside from Plex, where you have to rewind video after starting as the codec support is broke). A few weeks ago it was all super broke (eg the media remote didn't even work), however they've really pulled it together.

Got the update again, but now I can't play any disc based game. The error code tells me I can't connect to Xbox Live. Going offline doesn't help either. Digital games work fine. It makes no sense.

I've been keeping tabs on the Plex situation on the Plex support forums, seems as though one of the recent daily updates might have fixed the problem you mentioned.

Nice to hear it's all working well though. I downloaded the Hulu app from the U.S. Xbox store so I hope that updates even though I switched my region back to Australia. Would suck to have an old not working version when the dash update goes public, lol.

I really wish there was some history for updates somewhere on the Xbox. Since I have Instant On active I can never tell if I've got the latest updates for all my apps as the Xbox doesn't tell me.

this new OS has been a godsend to me. automatic updates while in sleep mode, for games or the OS itself, never worked on the old dash. since the first NXOE build i installed they do.

this alone is like the best improvement i could wish for lol

The background update stuff is so hit or miss for me, ever since I got the new dash it was working but then today I have to manual install a 3.5GB update.

As known, a headset weren't included with my Xbox One, so I went and spent $47 on this official Xbox One headset:

Is that good enough for chatting with people online?

Yeah it's a nice headset and looks good enough to wear as headphones if you need to.
